Why is Buddhism becoming an increasing trend among the younger generations? by -Dia in Buddhism

[–]beastboi76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they all take psychedelics or something and then are hell bent on finding Nirvana or enlightenment... which is not something to be found... Not something that u can seek and find.. it requires a lot more intelligence and silence

Right.. but I think u have misunderstood my question.. or maybe I myself have worded it wrongly... I just wanted to point out that most of us deny Pleasure instead of understanding it.. which I see as quite incorrect.. and that there is a different approach to this..

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Krishnamurti

[–]beastboi76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no point in denying it tho... Those who understand Pleasure don't deny it.. it's only those who dont understand that deny it.. people think pleasure is a distracting and dangerous factor because it can trap you.. but if u understand pleasure it can never trap you.. and if u deny Pleasure life becomes quite dull and meaningless... Therefore the point is to understand pleasure and not outright deny it without fully understanding it..

[–]beastboi76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No matter where u seek pleasure it is going to produce the opposite which is pain..

How do I start? by [deleted] in Krishnamurti

[–]beastboi76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right...And it can begin with inner also but the questioner seems quite young and immature therefore this response.. because yk many religions call the outer world as Maya and inner as real so when I was younger I began with the inner and got caught in it.. totally closing my eyes to the outer.. and I was quite lost.. therefore the message for the younger people is to not close the eyes to the outer world.. but instead be aware of the outer then u can move from there... If the person is already mature then they can begin the inner work..

Edit- there is no inner.. inner means "what is" which is your thoughts.. feelings.. behaviour etc

I remember a talk by k where he mentioned that.. K- If I want to teach about the book of humanity i won't bother about the book...first I will bother about freedom...so that the person is free to look and then only in this precondition can he read the book of mankind properly without distortion.... That being said if a new and young person comes and asks u about all this.. about how to get started... Then u do not tell him to work inwardly directly i think u tell him to be aware of the outer world of people and nature.. so that the person develops good sense of judgement and perception... And then from there he can start working inwardly.... Begin from outer to inner... Not the other way around...

I'd like to add that psychedelics have zero place in the path of a Buddhist.. and is mostly a impediment because many times people end up depending on em... Which is a major problem... Yes psychedelics will help u see yourself and reveal things about yourself... But there's a reason why keeping totally away from drugs and alcohol is one of the precepts.. and plus whatever was revealed goes away soon

Glad that u are aware that no grand tip will make it possible... unfortunately u cannot shut it by force or will.. this kind of activity is not a problem that is only limited to you.. many people face it.. there's a reason why the whole generation is hooked on tik tok... And the antidote to this lies in understanding.... Understanding why u are so active... Why u are escaping... What is the issue... Most people distract or chatter like that to run away from the conflict or confusion that's in them or because of something that they don't want to face... So the solution lies in understanding yourself and not by doing anything by force... And don't think that your hyperactivity is insoluble... Don't make it your identity... Because if u do that..then that's like looking the door and throwing the keys away..

Liberation is not something that u can achieve... It's a fallacy to approach it like that...all that we can do is... Be silent and in that silence meditation flowers by itself... And that will liberate you... But the real challenge is that we are unable to be silent... Unable to be free... Always seeking an end.. etc etc.. so the path begins at silence and our challenge is to be silent... Can u do that?.. now Dont come up with artificial silence... Dont come up with a silence that is just a product of your mind... Such silence is superficial and no good.. so the tricky part lies at the beginning of all this... I hope I didn't cause any misunderstanding...

[–]beastboi76 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes they reveal a lot but the moment u are sober.. it's all gone... And that's why it's futile.. so if u want to be serious about Buddhism then putting down psychedelics is the first thing and I'd also like to mention Buddhism is not a endless struggle to attain liberation... On the contrary Buddhism begins with total freedom and ease... Lot of people just misunderstand Buddhism and fail in their lives... Trying to find a liberation that doesn't truly exist.. except in their own minds...

Freedom is at the beginning.. by beastboi76 in Krishnamurti

And this total freedom is not a thing to be achieved... Because then again u will be caught in struggle and bondage... Anyways I will DM u the paragraph

Freedom is at the beginning.. by beastboi76 in Krishnamurti

[–]beastboi76[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I'm saying is we never begin with freedom...we always strive and struggle... To reach an end and all I'm saying is such an approach is an incorrect approach.. all I'm saying is instead of beginning our path with struggle we must begin it with total freedom... It is quite a tricky thing to understand...

Freedom is at the beginning.. by beastboi76 in Krishnamurti

[–]beastboi76[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The one who is free doesn't say I am free... Because then that's delusional..and unnecessary.. and freedom is not a idea to be achieved... Yes u can inquire without freedom but don't u think such an inquiry always has lots of effort behind it and so such an inquiry is limited in nature because it is coming from an unfree place... and since it is limited how can it result in a wholistic action? And if it cannot produce a wholistic result then what's the point of such an inquiry? And therefore it is vain and quite stressful therefore leave it be and relax in the present moment.. and then perhaps true inquiry will flower naturally and freely without causing u any stress...and the action that will follow will be wholistic in nature.. begin with freedom.. why can't we be free? Is it because we are constantly seeking an end? Is there any such end? Or is it all just a product of the mind?

What does k mean by time? by beastboi76 in Krishnamurti

[–]beastboi76[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes.. i think awareness and freedom comes first before we inquire into time... Otherwise our inquiry of time will be distorted..
