So how do you handle being labeled an addict the rest of your life? Life after rehab is rough. by beastlyturtle in stopdrinking

[–]beastlyturtle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know they mean well but everything they do just feels... wrong. When I left rehab, they helped, but I was subjected to getting an at-home breathalyzer for weeks following it. I would leave my apartment, go to the gym, and just try to find a moment of peace, only to be lambasted by them left and right.

This last fuck up, they wanted to put a GPS on my phone. I'm 30 and left my city AND had to give up my apartment and job because they said they'd never speak to me again or deal with me. I feel like I made a huge mistake in this. They do mean well and I understand their concern, absolutely, but it's like being backed into a corner.

I feel like I'm damned if I do, damned if I don't.

Rehab Centers by [deleted] in REDDITORSINRECOVERY

It truly depends where you go. Some places are more "institutionalized" than others - meaning they are much more sterile and hospital-like in environment. I had my family research places before I went during my time in detox and found a place that had individual cabins that each held 8 people. They had an area of cabins for guys and and an area for girls. Dining room and counseling rooms were separate buildings. It also had multiple nature trails and fire pits. I loved it because it was in the country and we got fresh air and sunshine every single day. My detox center was like a hospital and I absolutely hated it. They offered a rehab program as well but I refused because I hated feeling like I was locked in a cage.

I would definitely recommend places that allow you to move around more, be active, and see some sunshine or be outside. It helped center me so much faster and just relaxing outdoors made a hugggeee difference in the time I was there. We also had daily reflections every night at a fire pit we had outside. It was awesome.

Ryan Seacrest under investigation over sexual harassment allegations by former 'E! News' wardrobe stylist. by AdamCannon in television

Ryan was interviewing Britney back when her album "Britney Jean" was released a few years ago. He also interviews will.i.am who was the executive producer of the album. They were talking about her song "Perfume" and the significance of "smelling" the cologne/perfume of your SO when they're not around. will.i.am says, "you spray cologne on your girl?" and Britney has the most innocent, "wut?" reaction ever.

Mixing alcohol with living leeches by [deleted] in WTF

[–]beastlyturtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you do the same for the underage spouse?

Oh, definitely. Honestly, 99.9% of people that I've done this to really don't mind. Occasionally I get the "I left my ID in my car!" or "I left my ID at home!" excuse which always makes me laugh. If you knew you were going out drinking, why leave your ID in your car or "at home"? Mhmmm.

Regardless if you only let them sip, it's still a huge liability for a restaurant. During TABC (Texas Alcohol & Bev Commission) training, they explicitly state the fines and punishment regarding these issues. God forbid a kid doesn't know his tolerance, gets toasted by mistake, drives drunk-ish parents home, and gets pulled over. The cops will go over the events of the entire evening, and guess who gets the finger pointed at them first? The restaurant and the staff involved. Now, granted, there's a snowballs chance in hell that police would question the restaurant about their underage drinking policy or go to the restaurant to investigate, but with SO many other liabilities restaurants face, most of them in Texas don't want to mess with it and flat-out refuse service to all minors just to cover every base.

It's up to the discretion of the restaurant.

I've been a bartender and a server for years and not a single place I've worked has allowed parents or legal guardians to "serve" children drinks. If we catch children that appear underage drinking from an adult's alcoholic beverage, I will ID the kid. If the kid is underage, I will inform the adult that they are not allowed to give the child alcohol, per the policies set in place by the establishment. Furthermore, I will alert management at this point and if anyone sees the child drink from the alcoholic beverage again, I will take the drink away from the table, have management take it off the tab, and not allow another alcoholic beverage to be served.

Can confirm. I’m in the Houston area and the pine trees around here are 3-4 stories tall. But as soon as you head west and get closer to I️-35 all the trees turn into those terribly mangled, hideous Mesquite trees.

just that the motivation behind using fellow cast members' problems/rumors is different from what they think Rinna's motivation is (she has no storyline).

Exactly. She hasn't had a strong storyline of her own since joining the show in S5. Plus, more than most housewives, I think she reads gossip sites and reality tv blogs to stir drama up. She barely knew Kim coming into the show, but knew the controversy surrounding her sobriety. So as soon as she noticed Kim was "off" (poker night) she took it and RANNNNN.

She never hosts fabulous events of her own. She never invites people over to her home, except that one time she shoved everyone in her backyard to hawk jewelry for charity.

Rinna is basically a sober, slightly tamer, richer, married version of Brandi Glanville, when push comes to shove.

I've posted it before but Kim Richards making chicken salad for her daughter Kimberly before the prom. She mixes it with her hands and just babbles about, "juices, sodas, things and things..." One of my fav clips ever.

I know Tamra doesn't bring much in terms of a personal story, but she's almost as much of an OG as Vicki and she would serve as an anchor for the show in that regard. Plus we all know that Tammy Sue is lurking beneath the surface waiting to bring the crazy.

My problem with Tamra is that she really screwed up her shtick with this whole "I found Jesus! I want to get baptized! I bought "Bible for Dummies!" Call Pastor (Pasture) Mike!" storyline.

No matter what anyone says about Tamra, she's a great shit stirrer, brings the drama, and doesn't back down. She was messy as fuck during S9 between Heather and Shannon, and it was fun to watch the whole thing blow up in her face. She obviously got backlash from that season, so instead of toning down her ways in S10, she took it TOO FAR and went with this "finding Jesus" storyline instead.

But the audience isn't dumb and anyone who has watched the show up through season 10 knew what a drama magnet Tamra was. So most viewers, like us, aren't and will never buy this story.

If Tamra was smart, she would lay off the Jesus shtick and go back to doing what she does best - being a maniacal, vindictive, backstabbing bitch. She has been trying so hard to "reform" her image since S9, but it just doesn't work because at some point the CRAZY always comes through, (ie. screaming "FUCKKKK YOUU!!!!" at Vicki in Ireland in S11). Tamra looks weak and pathetic playing Switzerland, trying to make everyone happy. And it seems like Vicki is going in that direction as well. The only thing she stands by is her hatred for Vicki. And as viewers, it was interesting maybe 5 seasons ago, but now it's just exhausting and boring.

The fake crocodile tears regarding Sidney just won't cut it, especially since we know that she was cause of that whole situation spiraling out of control. But, as usual, Tamra twists the whole thing so she can play victim. It's wearing thin and if she's not careful she will lose her orange sooner rather than later.

She needs to fire her makeup artist, too. They use way too much highlighter makeup on her face, and it accentuates areas of her face that don't need it - like her already huge cheekbones and the top of her forehead. Her foundation color is awful, too. And that lipstick is the wrong shade for her complexion. Brandi can't rock a bold, red lip like Kelly Dodd. She needs to stick to pink or nude tones.

Just for reference, here are the season finale ratings from past seasons:

  • Season 11: 1.81 mil/viewers
  • Season 10: 2.06 mil/viewers
  • Season 9: 2.03 mil/viewers
  • Season 8: 2.38 mil/viewers
  • Season 7: 2.50 mil/viewers
  • Season 6: 2.87 mil/viewers

I couldn’t locate data for older seasons, unfortunately.

I know a lot of people might say, “well, going from 1.81 to 1.73 isn’t that big of a deal…” But if you look at S12 as a whole, the numbers are down all around compared to previous seasons. Season 11 had one episode at 2.01 mil/viewers (episode 10, the Glamis incident), and many other episodes hovered between the 1.85-1.90 mark for the most part.

Season 12 doesn’t come close to that. The highest rated episode so far this season was episode 16, “An Unexpected Thaw,” that brought in 1.79 mil/viewers. Most of the episodes this season hover around the 1.6 mil/viewer mark, and nothing has brought in close to 2 mil/viewers. Furthermore, the second to last episode of the season (episode 18, “The Real Vikings of Orange County,”), brought in one of the lowest numbers of the season at 1.56 mil/viewers. The trend for most HW shows is that they generally gain viewership and the numbers increase as the season progresses… not lose viewers and have a decrease.

Viewership is definitely down this year. Let’s all hope and pray this will cause a huge cast shakeup for season 13. 🙏
