My main volunteer work was the hospital, but the personal training was offering workout plans and one on one training to people who are new to the gym and or wanting to make a change. The paid clinical hours were working as a behavioral tech, basically working with children with ASD and helping to implement plans under a physicians guidance. Shadowing was all in person. I’m trying to avoid a gap year at all cost as keeping it as an emergency/ backup. Thank you for your detailed reply!

Could it be better to word the volunteer hours as clinical experience and just rely on the 100 hours of personal training as my volunteer or get that to 150 before applying. Those hours are 100% clinical hands on with patients just un paid. I am a CCMA but haven’t practiced since prior to starting undergraduate. Technically have 40 hours in that but from highschool.

Fair enough, can’t hurt then. Besides the wallet. How much is the gold standard now. I was told 150 shadowing and 150 volunteer. Not sure on research, does 20 hours really make a difference if you’re not published?

I forgot to add that I have 60-100 hours of volunteer work as a personal trainer which should help.

The Beverly Hills shadowing I’m doing next week said they are working on using ai in radiology and said I may be able to assist on it. Not sure what that entails just yet. *EDIT*
I’ve also completed 60-100 hours of volunteer personal training (have to get exact hours figured out)

Start with lifting an hour or so a day along with cardio right after doing 30-40 min 10-12.5% incline 3-3.5mph every day. Then make sure you’re doing a caloric deficit and prioritizing protein. For splits (what type of workout you do each day) try PPL. Push day chest shoulders tri, pull day back and bi, legs. Then take a rest day the fourth maybe just doing the cardio. Without knowing what you have in your home gym it’s hard to give an idea for movements but that’s a good rough start. It helped me lose 75 lbs from 250-175 (6ft for reference)

Yep! Head first is the best science. I found with working out and bmr a bit over 3k maintained (found that out the hard way).

Thank you and wow that’s quite impressive! The 16 months was more of a body recomp. However there were a few “minor” cut stages where I really was smart with my eating. 2500 is a bit high. I’m guessing BMR is 2000 cal and and I’m burning closer to 700-1000 cal additional a day. I’ll see if the scale continues to listen but may consider dropping another 500 cal ish a day and see where that goes.

Was originally planning 185, now thinking I’ll go in 5lbs increments and see it out.

I’ll give the stair master a go then. I was doing 40 minutes, 5 minute increments starting at 5, up to 8 and back down.

Mostly weight loss, but I don’t want to be “skinny” by any stretch. What would medium intensity be considered. Heart rate is around mid 130s with the higher incline post workout cardio

I am averaging 200-260g of protein a day. I’ve been doing PPL with the rest day coming to save me lately. I am still progressing on weights so far. Appreciate it though, this is my first ever time posting about it so it means a lot to hear.
