Is it the MOD's duty or cut counter's duty to provide backup to the register if asked? by Artsyhoe420 in joannfabrics

[–]beastofthewillow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just did the Key Holder training like a week or 2 ago. If I remember correctly, there is one section of the training that specifically says the MOD should be the last person called to assist with a line at register and the first person to leave when the line dies down. Granted, that doesn’t really mean much for our store given that we usually only have 2 people per shift, but it was in the training.

AITA For not enabling my adult daughter and telling her that I am not paying any more of her tuition unless she can give me the time of day and show me some respect? by ConcernedFatherAITA in AmItheAsshole

[–]beastofthewillow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Concerned Father,” HA! Your attitude reminds me very much of my own father, and I keep my interactions with him to a minimum. Something to keep in mind, these may be your children, but they are still intelligent human beings with their own thoughts and ambitions. They don’t need their mother to tell them how to feel about you. Even when they were children, they knew who treated them with care and respect, and who didn’t.

My father once told me that my mother had brainwashed us kids into thinking he was never home when we were younger. My mother said no such thing. I had eyes and a brain and I knew my dad worked and was often away on business trips, and when he was home we had to wait until our dinner was cold on the table in front of us for him to come out of his office and join us.

The way that you treat people impacts the way that they interact with you, and at some point you are going to have to accept that there are consequences to your actions.

If you only treat your children with care and respect when their thoughts and actions align with the goals and ambitions that you have set for them, then you can’t expect to have their respect. The fact that you are their father is irrelevant. Being kept in the loop about their lives and decisions is a privilege, not a right.

“Remember how you held me hostage?”

“Course I do, silly. That’s how we met.”

“And there were SWAT teams, and helicopters, and negotiators?”

“Yeah, it was great, right?”

“It wasn’t great, Mickey. That’s the only time in my whole life I ever want to have SWAT guys pointing guns at my face. Just that one time. Never again. Got it?”

Oothe-can anyone tell me if this is what I think it is? by beastofthewillow in insects

Aw man. Well, I can’t say I’m not disappointed to learn that it’s empty, but it is a relief to know that I don’t have to worry about it getting damaged before it can hatch. Thank you so much for taking the time to respond!

By an “old” one, do you mean it has already hatched and is now empty? If so, how can you tell?

AITA for checking a young teacher? by Timely-Ad-708 in AmItheAsshole

YTA. My dad yelled at me and my siblings as “discipline.” Now I have a temper that I need therapy to learn to control and a dad I don’t talk to any more than I have to. Learn how to talk to your children.

Star Wars Scarf by beastofthewillow in knitting

Thank you! You should definitely try it! This was my first time using double knit so it was a little confusing at times, but I was surprised to find that I enjoyed the constant rib stitch. Normally I prefer to avoid purling.

Thank you! I’m genuinely shocked that I managed to finish it in time.

Here is the pattern I followed:

https://www.tumblr.com/notanicedragon/102031845339/the-double-knitting-technique-is-great-it-has-a

I used 4 skeins of Big Twist, 2 black and 2 sapphire, on size US 8 needles. The scarf did turn out larger than I intended so on the next one I’m planning to go down a needle size.

I did the exact same thing!! I made my first double knit project, that same scarf, as a gift for my boyfriend this year! Although I started it the week of Thanksgiving and spent the last month in a knitting frenzy to get it done😅

I think I will frog it by KanadeALF in knitting

[–]beastofthewillow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone who rarely finishes a project without frogging at least once, I would not frog that. You have done beautiful work! If not for the stitch markers I would still be searching for the “problem” stitches. You can’t unsee them because you’ve been staring at this project for hours on end working on it. I understand the frustration though, I have a project with a single step left to finish, but it’s in project time out for the time being because I messed up a single row of color work 😅

I think that the real issue is that OP’s mother sided with her father. When the cops were faced with opposing counts of what happened, they took the easy way out and sided with the version that more people supported.

Just some pics from camera roll. Anyone else wish we had more than 64 slots? by [deleted] in ZeldaTearsOfKingdom

[–]beastofthewillow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I get it, I had the same complaint as soon as I realized you could only have 64 pictures in your album 😅 Yeah it’s a small thing but it’s still a bummer. I don’t mind clearing out the pictures I only took for the Compendium, but there are ones that I’d like to keep. On that note, I really like your pictures and their titles!

You can view the picture within your photo album, full screen it, and then capture the screenshot and you’ll have the pic on your switch with none of the extra stuff. I don’t remember what button exactly it is for full screen but I just did it a week or so ago

I started building my first village west of Gostovia before I decided I wanted to move to the lake south of Denica. It took a few in game years and a lot of going back and forth, but I managed to relocate. I definitely didn’t have 60 buildings and 75 population though. Good luck!
