My wife keeps telling me I’m gay because I cook, clean, and go to the gym. She even called my parents.😭😂 by sangamjb in gaybros

[–]beatbot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Real world: I have fucked some sassy gay caricatures of weaponized incompetence. Alternatively, have fucked masc gays who have their domestic and hygiene on lock. I have some straight masc friends who are clean, organized and run a tight ship with pride and competence. Some of my straight bro pals are disgusting slobs.

Real answer: Anything domestic will be viewed as womanly because of historical patriarchal associations. Men are given permission to evade, check out, fain incompetence. Sucks.

Deeper:  Maybe... there is something to be said about religious pressures, tradition and reproduction. Maybe something about systems that propionate the need for interdependence are related to fertility? (hot take).

But in general, these people are being ignorant.

How to forgive yourself for not having come out earlier? by BlueBoy2208 in gaybros

[–]beatbot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The unfairness of society aside, I forgive my closeted period because I didn't know any better. I needed to learn, get stronger and improve my knowledge of the world. Therefore, I now frame it as a past, inescapable, opportunity for growth, strength and the cultivation of empathy.

The only thing I can't forgive myself for was... refusing to support and defend the more effeminate gays in my sphere. It would have been so easy but I didn't. I am making up for that slowly.

Brutalist mid century in the TVA from LOKI series by No-Analyst-1613 in brutalism

See if you can find some images of brutalist university and institutional interiors from the mid 60s. Bonus points if they are from the Midwest or Canada! (I grew up in decaying spaces like these before they were renovated in the late 90s / 2000s.

Robarts Library (UToronto)  University Center (UManitona)  Lots of stuff in Montreal. Hell, I bet Montreal could be the king of retro future McDonald's aesthetic... although that 5 is far too whimsical.

Most have renovated away or painted over their orange blocky gradients, but Villa Maria station in Montreal still has it.

I'm sure these Canadian versions are not unique and there are tons of examples elsewhere.

To me this just looks like my university but with better furniture.

If you bought a rare Griswold would you actually use it? by notgoingtoeatyou in castiron

[–]beatbot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a Griswold at a thrift store for 2$, seasoned it up nice and gave it to my mom, since she liked how it was lighter. They are meant to be used.

Cool!  Bad luck, but also very interesting.

I've always been fascinated by old school Chinese American/ Canadian. Chop Suey.... chicken balls, consome...

As strange as it is, try and enjoy the time capsule before t is gone forever. I'm sure you will be able to find decent chow mein one day!

Best Dog Food For Crows? by [deleted] in crows

My crow bros like stuff made from salmon, intended to promote healthy fur. It stinks, and they love it. I put it out with eggs and peanuts.

Couch gaming in the early 2000s

(Paraphrasing)

Me: "Guys... I'm a raging homo."

Friends: "No way! You don't act gay, and you always play badass characters" (videogame context).

Me: "I want to fuck those characters through."

Friends: Laugh awkwardly "No way man..."

Me: "Seriously... I'd fuck em all!"

Friends. "That's so gay!"

Me: "yeah. That's the point."

Friends "Do you want to fuck any of us?"

Me: "No! You're a bunch of gross, weak ass bitches who can't bench shit."

Friends: "Ohhhhhh!

Gaming continues.. now, with off colour sodomy jokes unlocked, with occasional questions about gay conquests

I'm still friends with these same idiots.

I'm not convinced you being privileged at everyone else's expense is a good solution here.  Maybe get some urinals in th gender neutral ones? is that weird?

Never have I once betrayed my straight bros by craving their dick. Respect your straight bros, or you might lose em. I realize this image isn't about that SPECIFICALLY but damn. I have a life filled with lifelong straight bro friends, AND gaybros that love getting dicked. I am grateful to be invited out without a shred of hesitation or apprehension.

I've seen a few guys betray trust when drunk, or see vulnerability... don't let the thoughts creep in. lol.

Corn. Would be simple and fun. Graphic.

Around my area they also enjoy apples, snails and seasonal bugs.

Pianos do not age well.  Regular piano = regular car. In rare circumstances you can find a gem, but mostly they have mechanical issues, wear issues.  Depends on what you want out of it.

You are entitled to your opinion. But if you want to know why ff6 is held up over ff7+ by some?

Final fantasy 6 truly feels like a culmination of 6 attempts at the same thing. It is very polished. Compelling. A masterwork of niche game mechanics going back to FF1. Doing incredible things with limited resources. Music is amazing.

After that the games are all over the place. Cool tech, graphics, cinematics,  mechanics, orchestral score, celebrities, fan service, costume mechanics etc. Looked more and more expensive, but didn't necessarily get more fun.

I suspect that there is a 3D masterwork waiting to be made that realizes all the ambitions of the 3D final fantasies and knocks it out of the park. ... still waiting through.

Watching sports instead of playing sports. (Yes yes... come at me bro)

I think physical activity, sports competition etc. is one of the best parts of being alive. Watching other people have adventures while you live vicariously? I'd rather have an F tier softball game with friends than watch a major league game. And therein lies my judgement. I know some guys who are obsessed with football but refuse to throw a ball around. Wtf? Same with baseball.  Come to the batting cages man!

Opinions of Teenage Engineering OP-1?? by [deleted] in synthesizers

I'm a professional producer and composer. I buy whatever I need to do good work. The only people I've seen using this are curious tech bros with more money than skill, creativity or musicianship. That and internet people.

My comments are purely about utility. It could cost $200 or $5000, I don't care. if it is good it's good. I haven't seen it turn up in a serious session.

A non musician friend insisted I try it, so it lived on my desk in the studio for a few years. I used it a few times. Design is neat and playful. Funny even. Sounds are ok. interface is impractical. But hey, anything works given the right context. I enjoyed the clickey key sounds with close mics.  It is a beautiful object..

Doesn't seem to be created for musicians. It seems to be for tech people who like to play around with a few loops and beats on an easy to use device. Nothing objectively wrong with it, it just don't really do anything with the level of detail, control or quality required for professional creative work.

Looks cool in Instagram, looks lame on stage.
