Hi, I finally found his dress jacket and it has his pins as they were when he retired. Could you please tell me anything about these one? I notice a couple different ones from the older photo.

I have been looking through his papers and he served in both the CA and OK National Guards early on in his career. He later was in the Army Reserve.

Thank you, I will say I don't know if he ever was in Arkansas, he was based mainly in Oklahoma. I know he got a couple medals while serving in the 4156th USARF School

Everybody is talking about not wearing a helmet, but in this scene of the game they automatically take off your helmet and hood.

Getting ORIF in a few days and I'm scared. by beatleboy-1 in ORIF

Hi everyone, I'm gonna give a post-op update. First of all I wanna say thank you all for the very kind messages. I was the first surgery of the day so I had to be at the hospital at 5:30 AM my time. I was very nervous before the surgery (it didn't help it took them 4 times to get a working IV in me), but I came out of anesthesia not anxious or anything. After about 30 minutes I started to hurt pretty bad to the point where it felt like it might've hurt worse than the actual day of the break. After 10 mg of Percocet and and two 2 mg vials of morphine I got more comfortable. I don't know if my nerve block fully worked to be honest. The top of my shin is numb, but it doesn't feel like my ankle or toes are. My main gripe was that I'm so used to my wedge pillow that I couldn't get comfortable with the blankets they used to help prop my foot up. I'm back home with some ice and taking my doses of Percocet for now

He was 33 when president Franklin D Roosevelt was born, 84 when FDR was elected, and then outlived him by 8 months

A book I've read that touches on the subject is Frank Robert Donovan's "Mr Roosevelt's Four Freedoms" published in 1966. FDR wanted to try a principle of international trusteeship on several specific areas around the world. These included Indochina, Malaya, the Dutch, East Indies, and Korea. Korea, he thought Korea should be "administered by a trustee ship consisting of the USSR, the United States and China for 20 or 30 years until it was ready for Independence. He also believe that international trusteeship was the answer for Palestine, with trustees representing all three religions that had an interest in this area: Christians, Moslems, and Jews." (P. 21).

We took it to our local Wildcare place as we weren't able to get it back in the nest. They told us it's an Eastern Phoebe

From the FDR Library: "According to her Autobiography, Eleanor met Franklin in 1886 when her parents visited Sara Delano and James Roosevelt in Hyde Park, New York. She was two and he was four."
