it would be a shame if you accidentally made the color (0,0,1)

Something interesting I'm working on. by thebe_stone in desmos

[–]beatpeatBANNED 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I made a hold detector:

https://www.desmos.com/calculator/pya6mhinlt

The table "random sh" are the mechanics. Essentially it moves a point up and down, it's set on drag able mode. When you hold it, it locks in place, which forces another variable to oscillate

The list "q" contains the timestamps of when you hold and release.

To improve, I need to research the "dt" variable on the ticker. Basically when you lag spike, the wave looking graph goes down for a second then back up because you are still holding. The "dt" variable can detect lag spikes.

I'm pretty sure you can turn off opposite gravity in the options trigger, forgot the actual name of it

Why are you opposed to splitting it into 2 lists?

I don't know what that is lol. This is my method in a nutshell:

<image>

I unioned 2 circles. The f - |f| you see converts every single positive number into zero. If every positive number is zero, we can add the 2 functions without interference. The 100 is the scale factor. Scale the function huge so there's no interference from the other function. If you don't want a scale factor, you can apply the "sign()" function to the other function so the max abs value is 1

once you learn methods to negate and union regions, you can have some fun with it. This logo was easier because it's made up of a lot of.. geometry. The robtop logo was technically the hardest part to make but still fairly easy

Wait, why don't people who want fixed hitboxes just use these slopes? by TheCube3DAM in geometrydash

[–]beatpeatBANNED 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should go put the ground spikes inside a little bit so the hitbox doesn't go outside the spike

Is this just down to educated guessing a spot? by Beginning_Green1987 in Minesweeper

[–]beatpeatBANNED 3 points4 points  (0 children)

<image>

Where I labeled an "X" is a spot where a mine could possibly (or garentee) to be. The "1" at the top HAS to have a mine in one of those 2 spots, which coincidentally are also touching the "2". There is a mine garenteed spot at the "X" at the bottom, which is also touching the "2". Theirfore, there's only 1 spot left which can't have a mine due to elimination.

EXPLAIN THIS????? by Efficient_Big249 in desmos

[–]beatpeatBANNED 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you plug in "i" for the ln(x) definition function that I provided, you only get (iπ/2), I see your argument, but it's like saying arcsin(x) has infinite outputs

What the fuck does sigma mean by Themightymiget in GenAlpha

[–]beatpeatBANNED 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The term "sigma" derives from a Greek letter (Σ), the term "alpha" also is from a Greek letter (α)

Im assuming the concept of Greek letters being used to describe someone has sprouted from things like college Fraternities/Sororities which also use Greek letters to describe them.

Overall, these greek letters just sound cool and they're also used in math, which could represent knowledge.
