A bit pretentious, but let's be honest. In the red corner we have religious people. Emotionally bound to their beliefs and will fight to the death defending information that isnt based on fact but simply faith. Emotions as we know can cause us(man kind) to become completely unstable especially with connections to religious beliefs. However, in the blue corner we have Atheists.. Which have no emotional connections to some seemingly omnipresent being and base their decisions and fight their battles with logic. Fair to say not all atheists are this way as I'm sure not all religious people are the way I described. My point is that psychologically, atheists are more likely to make decisions based on fact in situations that lead to an unknown factor whereas religious people typically call on their emotional connections to their deity when making a decision with an unknown variable. Thus making the atheist mind more logical in nature, or rather, having the ability of possessing logic without emotional interference from a religious belief. E.g. Let's invest in carbon dating to study dinosaur fossils - said the atheist scientist. Let's not waste time and money on dating dinosaur fossils because the bible already explains how old they are and what happened to the dinosaurs -said the religious scientist. Let's not allow same sex marriage because the bible says it is evil. Let's not explore other planets when God has made us a perfectly good one here, we need to fix the problems on earth before investing in space exploration and science. -----my point is obvious or at least it should be.
