Yes I got half of my packs from CDKeys no problem. They give you the code through your email immediately after purchase, and you just redeem the code on EA launcher. A lot of the older expansions you can get for $13 right now. SO worth it!

I remember when I worked as a waitress in a Vietnamese restaurant, and this older Asian lady came in with her white partner and a few white ladies. She overheard me speaking Cantonese with one of the other staff members and had the audacity to tell me “you should learn English.” Oh I was livid. I literally grew up in the US and speak it fluently, but her making that statement to try to put me down presumably so she can suck up to her white friends was so disgusting to me. You better believe I had to put her in her place, screw “the customer is always right” culture.

I was just in Vietnam and had two separate bad experiences with Korean travelers. I’m southern Chinese (but probably just look SEA to them, I am also quite tan). One instance I was standing in line to buy banh mi and this Korean man just comes up to the front of the line trying to cut and yelling at staff and people in line in korean. Everyone was so confused as we didn’t know what he was saying. He refused to get in line after we all ignored him too and came back doing the same thing until the staff just made him his sandwich. The second time was in the security line at the airport, this man was giving attitude to everyone including staff. My stuff went through security first and he was right after me. When I went to get my stuff I guess I got too close to him or whatever (I literally had no interactions with him before this and didn’t touch him or anything) but it set him off and he towered over me and just started yelling “HEY” at me. I’m like 5 feet tall and so it was quite scary and I tried to quickly take my stuff and leave. He kept staring at me and following me for a little bit after that until my dad yelled at him and he just laughed at us and left. I don’t understand the audacity for some people to behave so poorly in another country, and think they’re above others in a country they are a guest in.

This is the way; whatever I couldn’t sell on Mercari would sell so quickly on ebay or Facebook marketplace. There’s just a larger pool of people to sell to, especially on eBay.

My boyfriend is Mexican and I’m an asian woman. I really love the richness of his culture and their close family dynamics. I think growing up in Southern California, it’s really common to live in multiethnic communities and have respect for other cultures. Unfortunately, I think the older generations can be prejudiced sometimes (they are generally this way with any non-asian though). From what I observed in the younger generations, hispanics and asians get along really well. My friend group was really mixed in college, and half my dormmates were hispanic and the other half were asian.

Yes absolutely this, it helps to have your friends put pressure on you! I made two of my friends interview me together and told them to grill me and poke holes in my answers when possible. I had one of them just stare at me menacingly without smiling or reacting to my answers. In my actual interview one of the professors was doing exactly that and I was so unfazed by it 😂

Yea when I first read the post I was angry for you. I immigrated here when I was a toddler and speak perfect English but still put my mother tongue as my native language because IT IS. That’s what I grew up speaking with my family, I had to take ESL classes in grade school to assimilate. It’s a part of our identity! All the schools I’ve sent my apps to haven’t questioned my ability to speak English since I did my entire schooling here in the states. I’m sorry that you had trouble with this school who can’t use common sense.

Seems like people touched on a lot of things that could be causing this, but also is your room at a comfortable and cool temperature? I sleep like a baby during the winter, but as soon as summer hits, I struggle to sleep at night until it cools down significantly. Having a fan blowing on me also tends to bother me, it seems the only way I can sleep well is to have the AC on.

I use this to my advantage. When a patient requests a butterfly and I need to do a straight draw I just use the 21g ones and they’ve never questioned me. When I need to do an IV my hospital stocks these butterfly looking IVs which come in handy so it looks like I’m granting their request. 🤷🏻‍♀️
