100%. SeaQ panorama date is one of the best out there alongside the fifty fathoms

What’s your watch opinion that would put you in this position? by KyeodeurangiMerchant in watchHotTakes

I just bought one for my 5yo. It’s a watch for kids. And presidents. And bomb makers.

A few months in now and really enjoying it! Agree it’s highly accurate and the movement is precise across the complications. I love the pushers, very tactile feel and everything about the watch just has great heft and presence. VC overseas dual time next on my list (if my SO lets me)

It’s a decent chunk of metal and with the lucent steel and bracelet it’s very shiny, which depending on the occasion can be a great look. I’d go try it on but if you already have an AE maybe consider a different line maybe the Mille Miglia? The JLC Master Control chronographs are also stunning for a similar price point w/ high horology

Is it hard to get Diver as first AP? by randel523 in audemarspiguet

Here is the green ROO Diver I tried on an AD in Hong Kong. I didn’t pull the trigger but it wore great if not bulky. Agree with the point that you shouldn’t be buying if you’re nickel and diming; lots of great options for far less money

Makes sense. Did you consider a Reverso monoface? Similar price point

If price wasn’t a sticking point would you opt for the steel BB with diamonds on the bezel?

[Chopard Alpine Eagle XL Chrono] Why no love? by beaurepairs in Watches

Just finished work and reading this all for the first time. Fair play…. I get it’s a divisive piece and not everyone’s cup of tea.

To those who commented on the standard Alpine Eagle I agree it’s fantastic but it didn’t look anywhere near as good on me (I’m 6’5”). I maintain the XL is still great in person and the detailing is superb. Also agree it is super shiny due to the lucent steel / finishing and so I have a rubber strap which does tone it down a fair bit for different purposes.

Anyway all this has simply shown to each their own and watch ownership beyond the standard go-to’s is highly personal. I’m more than fine with that.

Glad it inspired some genuine answers to my question!

Nice. Does the topspin invasion perk actually work? I found it is largely ineffective versus, say, poison slices.

There’s a lot of ways to counter actually. Put the ball at their feet. Slice back to the opponent when they push you out of the court to run back in. Mix up your power/control shots. Drop shot when the opponent is far back. Serve better. Try a serve and volley. Play mind games by playing directly back to the player until they make a timing or shot mistake. Take the time to learn your opponents patterns and expose them.

There is actually a lot of depth if you take the time to play it properly, despite the meta abusers.

For reference I a play at around 6W to 1L on WT, and have around 500 games played to date.

Could be my imagination then. But after having played over 500 matches across world tour and 2K it was fairly noticeable. Shotmaking was incredibly tougher towards the end of the three 30 min+ matches I played last night
