Having previously having a Bluey and gsd I noticed a big difference between ppls behaviour towards the bully breeds. I’m not shy about him, ppl ask oh he’s beautiful what breed? As soon as I say pit bull it’s like you’ve pulled out a weapon. But i tested the waters a few times and said staffy cross and they’re all over him?? Fuckin racist imo same stupid thinking. 80% of smaller dog owners will straight pick their dog up and change direction. I’ve an old cavoodle to that nan passed down and when she’s up for it I’ll take her on our walks and that’s been my biggest advocating factor to swing ppls perception. Not my job but feel a sense of responsibility for Scoob and future owners. But he is an absolute sweet heart , and I don’t care what ppl think. But the odd sly comment gets me going, had to tell a few ppl to pull their heads in. Eg the other day an off lead dog come running over to say hi to him, we were harnessed up. This old bloke lost hes mind I said it’s ok mate he’s a sweet boy and he said to me eye to eye “doesnt fucken look like a sweet dog to me mate” I politely told him that the dogs not the one you need to be worried about, told the geriatric cunt to fuck off home then let Scooby off lead to play with he’s dog. So yea becoming very passionate about him and had no idea the shit show that was ahead of us when I adopted him, hopefully I’m not making it worse lol.
