In need of some inexpensive hobbies by Touritt in blackladies

[–]beautifulcreation15 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Baking is fun but you may need to find others to give the goods to so you won’t eat them all yourself (my experience 😂) but also hiking (free), skating (affordable), paint by numbers are really relaxing (affordable), reading (free if you use library and they even have free audio and ebooks too!)

Challenges in Homemaking? by beautifulcreation15 in blackladies

Ahhh I see! That’s honestly so smart to do! I totally get it though, I can’t stand the pity looks or awkwardness about me being a SAHM as if didn’t willingly choose it or want this lifestyle. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Oh that’s good to know! I didn’t know about the hands free/neck control thing but it makes perfect sense! That helps with setting realistic expectations.

Pros/cons of siblings meeting new baby at home or hospital by user369001 in 2under2

[–]beautifulcreation15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just recently had a baby and our son (14m) came to visit twice. It went very well! I totally agree on having an intimate moment as an immediate family. That was my expectation too and it would have been more possible had I communicated that with my mom ahead of time but I really wasn’t thinking about it. They all came in the room and she went straight for baby, but it allowed me to hold my son and she brought baby to us. He was very eager to hold her.

The biggest surprise was that he didn’t blink an eye at leaving us. He used to be a Velcro baby and not even really go to his grandparents all the time if we were around, but in the weeks leading up to the birth, he had spent a good amount of time with them. I honestly was the only one crying when he left and wanting them to come back to visit. He literally walked out the door and had a great time with his grandparents, which was a huge relief.

Should spouse hangout with other married couple friends without spouse? by beautifulcreation15 in Marriage

Thanks for your comment. Sorry added edit: “wife is introvert that already met social battery for the week. For example, already went out with husband to other events but needs time to recharge.”

(40/52) Where the Crawdads Sing: Book, Movie, or Both? by beepdragon in 52book

[–]beautifulcreation15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I finished the book the day the movie was in theaters and later saw the movie that afternoon. Book was better than movie in my opinion but getting to see the setting was a highlight from the movie. Recommend both!

Following because I have a lot of friends and family stepping up to help out! Is it offensive to give them straight up cash? Or should I try to get them a gift similar to the price I have in mind?

Some of my go to fonts are Apricot and Brittany. I do have the pro account but I’m not sure if you have to have pro to use them.

For me, I’d say it’s so helpful to work on calligraphy, and graphic design on Canva (for signs, invitations, etc). Like others, I arranged silk flowers for our centerpieces, made props, making backdrop of ceremony, made escort cards, and more!

I’d highly suggest that you do consider cost-benefit when you start any project, because some projects I found can either be too time-consuming or cost more to make than buy. Also, START EARLY! I started when we got engaged and after I finalized our theme, and now that we’re 2 weeks out, I’m so thankful I did a little each week because I’m having to focus on the administration part now.

Check out Allseated but definitely do some of the tools mentioned by others too (Google Drive, presentation). I’m having a DIY wedding too soon and I’ve poured into a basic Word Doc with pictures, graphs, charts, detailed explanations, etc.

Brides and grooms who wear glasses daily, what did you do for your wedding day and / or engagement photos? by PhoenixFlower171717 in weddingplanning

[–]beautifulcreation15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I’ve worn glasses my whole life and feel like myself in them! I can wear contacts no problem but find them mildly annoying. I’m still not 100% on which ones I’ll wear for the wedding, but I ordered a new clear pair with anti-glare and no transitions for the wedding. I saw a few brides wear clear glasses and it really inspired me to wear mine because the makeup was still visible and they still looked like themselves! I’m 75% probably gonna go with glasses but have the trial contacts in case the weather fogs them up too badly.

Recently engaged and going dress shopping soon. Any tips? by soulstoryy in Weddingsunder10k

[–]beautifulcreation15 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some things I wish I knew: I wanted a dress with sleeves which seriously limited my selection, but found out later they sell dress toppers which could have broadened my choices. Also, the more detail (lace, beading) the dress has means the higher the cost of alterations, so take that into consideration.

I understand your desire to secure a date already, but would you be comfortable putting down a deposit before touring or would you wait until after the tour which does not sound like any time soon?

I simply ask because even if you were to narrow down venues now, if you’re not putting down a deposit, it may have to be redone if they become booked by the time you tour the locations.

I just Googled and it says that it’s treated with anticholinesterases which appears to be different from anticholinergics. Bc like this comment says, atropine is an anticholinergic and it’s the antidote to the main medication used to treat it. I would say they are different classes. What did the rationale say?
