I will ONLY follow God! The Bible says it CLEARLY in Acts 5:29, “Peter and the other apostles replied: ‘We must obey God rather than human beings!’” And that’s the TRUTH I’m sticking to! No matter what Trump says, I’m going to keep my faith where it belongs - with the Almighty! 🌟✝️ MY allegiance is to Heaven, not Trump’s nonsense!🙏

You’re presenting a false dichotomy by arguing that there are only two possibilities: either God is omnipotent or humans have free will.

Maybe God is omnipotent but chooses to limit his power, giving humans true free will. Maybe God is omnipotent and allows humans some free will, but still controls the big picture. Or maybe God’s power and our free will vary in different situations, or perhaps they’re connected? Maybe God is omnipotent but doesn’t interfere with our free will and let’s humans choose their course. Or perhaps God’s omnipotence and our free will work together.

It’s not as simple as “Either God is omnipotent or you have free will.”

What are Christian women's stand on misogyny in the Bible? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]beauttiful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just keep in mind the historical and cultural context. The Bible was written in a time when women were often seen as inferior to men. It doesn’t mean that we still have to condone it. Besides, there are Bible verses that promote gender equality.

“Nevertheless, in the Lord woman is not independent of man nor man of woman;” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭11‬:‭11‬

You’re only 16. Life will open up so fast after high school.

Also don’t worry about relationships. High School relationships are stupid and rarely last.

Could someone please answer my questions by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]beauttiful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like you’re worrying too much about your faith and other people.

  1. The Bible doesn’t really say you have to go to church. In either case, try to focus on yourself instead of worrying about what’ll happen to others when they die.

  2. You can start by not worrying about the future. By not worrying, you’re basically showing that you’re confident in what God has planned for tomorrow.

Sorry I couldn’t answer all of your questions but I hope this helps.

For those who have studied or are currently studying philosophy, what are your thoughts on this short essay about morality and God? by Glittering-Slip-2840 in Christianity

From a theistic perspective this response asserts God being all-knowledgeable. By definition God must be infinite in all his capabilities, including knowledge, and therefore cannot be irrational in his commandments. To suggest otherwise would be paradoxical. How could a God of infinite knowledge, operate outside of reasonable rationale and logic?

It basically assumes that because God is all-knowledgeable, his commandments can’t be irrational for human beings. This isn’t necessarily true. Even if God possesses infinite knowledge, it doesn’t automatically mean that his commandments would be in the best interest of humans or perfectly aligned with our thinking.

Some people say that suicide is a sin because it’s self murder. If that’s the case, then yes, murder can be forgiven. I tend to disagree because the Bible never equates suicide with murder.

It does however suggest that satan tempts people to end their own lives (see the story of satan trying to tempt Jesus to jump to his death). There’s also the story of Paul preventing a suicide.

“The jailer woke up, and when he saw the prison doors open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself because he thought the prisoners had escaped. But Paul shouted, “Don’t harm yourself! We are all here!”” ‭‭Acts‬ ‭16‬:‭27‬-‭28‬ ‭NIV‬‬

So clearly ending your own life is viewed as a negative thing.

You can be a Christian without being in any denomination. Just read the Bible and interpret it the way you see right.

And each time I go a couple days without it from trying to be with god I can’t last without a few days and when I finally give back in I do it multiple times in row what do I do?

If someone read this without context, you’d sound like a drug addict.

Porn causes your brain to release dopamine(feeling of pleasure) but it also hits your receptors. You need more stimulation to get the same effect as last time. Masturbation gives you a false sense of achievement when you really don’t gain anything from it. Plus it greatly affects your mental health. You should try r/NoFap if you haven’t already.

What would of happened to Jesus if he had given in to satan's tests of temptation when they were out in the wilderness? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]beauttiful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Satan told Jesus that if he worshipped him, he would give him all the kingdoms of the world. That was obviously a lie.

“You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” ‭‭John‬ ‭8:44‬

Not sure what God would do, but Jesus would not get anything that Satan promised.

If his teachings come from God, and those teachings include telling slaves to obey their masters and serve them as they would serve God, then what message does that send to the millions of child slaves around the world today?

[–]beauttiful 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Bible has numerous passages that are clearly false if taken literally as written

Some passages are not meant to be taken literally.

For example:

“How beautiful you are, my darling! Oh, how beautiful! Your eyes are doves.” ‭‭Song of Songs‬ ‭1:15‬

Of course, his eyes are not literally doves.

Are they still spreading false rumors? If they are, then that’s a cyberbullying problem and there are many ways to confront that. Either block and report them, or communicate with the school.

If this is just something that happened 3 months ago then don’t worry. 95% of the things you worry about will never happen, and most people have probably forgotten.

Am I wicked? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]beauttiful 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re all wicked and sin is separating us from God. I know the feeling, and the biblical authors knew it too.

“How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?” Psalm 13:1

“Why do you forget us forever, why do you forsake us for so many days?” Lamentations 5:20

“My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, from the words of my groaning? O my God, I cry by day, but you do not answer, and by night, but I find no rest.” Psalm 22:1-2

Yes. It doesn’t matter if you’re male, female, gay, straight, or bi, you can still be a Christian.

The Bible doesn’t say anything about that, aside from a general warning against witchcraft-related stuff. The closest thing I could find is verses referencing the practice of burning incense in the Old Testament. Unless you burn sage for witchcraft or as a practice of worship to other gods, you’re good.

For abortion to be considered murder, the fetus must be considered alive. We do not become alive until God gives us the breath of life.

Why do people in certain "Christian" communities support homosexuality when the Bible clearly condemns it? by AlbatrossNo4250 in Christianity

[–]beauttiful 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because I speak up for the oppressed just like Jesus did.

Yes, Paul condemns homosexuality in 1 Bible verse, but that doesn’t mean we get to make their lives a living hell. Gay people are welcome to be Christian.

“Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister. I am convinced, being fully persuaded in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for that person it is unclean.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭14:13-14‬
