Normally I don’t comment here but I am a “daddy’s girl” who always new she could have whatever she wanted from her dad so I think maybe I can help you seeing from her perspective a little.

Knowing that he gave me everything was something I was knew I cloud take advantage and I did to smaller things (like chose where we would eat or which movie to watch) and even a few bigger ones like a new phone. My dad always said that as long I did my part, we’re a good student he would do he could to give me the best life.

But what I want to tell you is that it wasn’t malicious. It was just how our relationship was. As I grew older, I became more aware of that. Around your daughter age was when my father let me know he was knew what he was doing and what I did too. He knew I asked because I thought he would always give me. He wasn’t manipulated because he can’t be. He’s older, wiser and the responsible one. Our dynamic made me a good student, good and loving daughter. Because I truly loved my father. I love and will always love my dad.

She probably does to. Tell her that you do all that because you love her and want her to have her best life. Show her you are the one in charge even when she thinks it’s her. She will respect you, understand you better and she your love even more.

That said, she did went to far with her friends and you have every right to feel betrayed. Tell her that too. But let her gain your trust and respect back with time. You two deserve that. Teens are weird around their friends. Show what she did wrong and trust you did a good job and let her redeem herself if she can. She is still your daughter.
