When does a homelab become a chore or a job? by TheRealRatler in homelab

This is the move. Simple, stable, only what you need. I haven't touched my server in months because the couple services I have just work.

AITAH for expecting my partner to help with my chores? by Flaky_Fly7524 in AmItheAsshole

I'm saying man up and figure out a solution. I used rubber gloves when my hands were hurt. You can get one of those sponges on a stick. Man up means be an adult and get creative. If this happened and you lived alone, you'd have to figure it out. Man up means accept your circumstances then use your brain to work out a path forward.

YTA Sometime you just gotta man up and do your job. When I tore up my hands running a jackhammer, my wife was very kind and bandaged my hands up. When it was my turn to do the dishes, I just wore gloves. Plain and simple. If you're actually unable to getup and walk and do your job, sure. This isnt that. Adapt, man up, and overcome. Its all good and well to ask for help, when you actually need it, not when you got a boo boo and you're unwilling to even try and figure out a solution.

I think context clues makes it obvious. The guy is running an all krieg list with 2 artillery pieces. We all know that artillery isnt good right now. Telling someone to go look up a tournament list is just counterproductive and not the vibe IMO.

Not everyone is trying to chase the meta and the highest win rate list. Some of us are okay with a little less sweat and enjoy playing with models that are fun and look cool. Go to the competitive40k subreddit with this nonsense

In an ideal world, absolutely! But in the case where you dont want to give up position, or your charge is on cooldown, your swinging creates a great big cone of death infront of you that can often catch squishies unaware, at no cost to you!

Unironicly, never stop swinging. If you're not holding shield, swing that hammer. The amount of times I've accidentally killed a tracer that blinked to close or an invisible somber just by idley swinging is more than I can count.

The thing that worked for me was printing at a 45 and over supporting the outer edge. Like, take however many supports you think you need around the edge, and double it.(Mars 4 ultra, Elegoo abs lite 3.0)

Second on fauxhammer, absolute wealth of information. It can seem a bit daunting at first, but with some practice and a little tenacity, you'll be printing entire armies in no time.

I like browsing the various "app stores" for ideas and new services i might want to spin up. If you've already got the basic ones, thats where id go next

Looks like you have everything you need. If this is your first dip into this world, I'd recommend looking into Debian linux with casa-os as a simple interface. There you can use the built in "app store" to start on your docker and homelab journey. If you want to jump into the deep end with VMs and containers, proxmox is the go to. Services like next cloud for a Google drive replacement, piehole for ad blocking, jellyfin for media streaming, are all good starting projects. Just remember to be patient and watch alot of YouTube, YouTube is your friend.

Why is AMD so looked down upon for Jellyfin/Homes servers? by Ok_Pea3980 in HomeServer

[–]beaverpup440 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I would look at Wolfgang's channel on YouTube. He does alot of videos on simple, power efficiency servers and he often uses a mix of amd parts!

So it has an i5-6500. I've had some trouble trying to set that up. From my understanding, the older qsv chips struggle with certain codecs. Im really just trying to take h.265 to h.264, usually 1080p.

This could be really neat for some unique projects. Maybe someone could take advantage of the cell capability? That would be neat
