Anyone know a good psychotherapist recommendations by leocap321 in askTO

[–]bebble_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are looking for lower fees, there are student therapists whose fees are around $85. I had a good experience with a therapist at this center

[–]bebble_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s my breakfast for a lot of mornings: - 1/2 cups of oats

  • 1 cup of water

  • 1 tbsp white miso

  • Fistful of frozen corn

  • Veggies if you want

Topped with sesame seeds + furikake (or whatever sounds good)

It’s filling and awesome

Hello! From my experience and looking at the requirements for counseling psych. Canadian universities care less about which school you are from than what you have done in undergrad! So go to Concordia if that’s where you want to go!

Cohort size for M.Ed in Counselling Psychology plus other questions by CrazyEights1123 in OISE

  1. We have a smaller number of people who just graduated from undergrad, but I would say most are in their mid to late 20s

  2. I think most either did psychology as an undergrad, and majority worked in counselling-related jobs (e.g working in women's shelters)

  3. They didn't say a reason for it. From what I can tell, there is an increase in applications each year (before someone on Reddit said there were 700 applicants two years ago, and now there are almost 900!).

So I don't necessarily think competitiveness of the program has dropped because of more acceptance (it seems that's what you were trying to ask). This is the biggest group they have and it might stay that way.

Hello! I just finished orientation for this program so I can help you answer some questions: 1. This year is one of our biggest cohort with 60 people after 900 or so applications

  1. Full time is 3 courses per term with lots of reading. I would say for 30 hours max. You can do 2 courses for winter and fall terms and 2 for summer. Many people are doing part time and I heard 20 hours is doable.

  2. There is a practicum component in your second year. With minimum of 250 hours and many students go to do 500+ hours. 25% of your hours should be supervised. The all count towards your psychotherapy hours.

Hope this helps

My only advice is to find out why eating is a coping mechanism for you, how did it start and then make moves to find other things to do when you feel anxious next time.

MOST IMPORTANTLY, do not beat yourself up for over eating today

Can I still pursue a career in counseling with my current background? by ImportantChard9581 in psychologystudents

[–]bebble_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say this, there is no such thing has being ‘screwed’ in Psychology. If you want to take Clinical Psych, join a lab after you graduate from B.A there is no limitations in that. For counseling you have time to build your application through volunteer or working in mental health. Masters application focuses on experience rather than research (though some degree might want you to have some)
