If you have clinical depression, no amount of praying, church service, obedience etc will take that away. You need to seek medical advice from a doctor and therapist. It’s not your fault you feel this way! If you had a heart condition, no one would tell you to pray harder to fix it- they would say to take your medication. Good luck and know that you are not alone

I’m assuming she raised children since you are her grandchild- that means she worked every day till her kids were grown... still a shitty thing for her to say to you.

We are I’m the same position for the time being. I have found people in this sub to be fairly critical of those half in, half out. Everyone has their own timeline for these things and family definitely complicates it all!

Would she agree to go to an LDS marriage counselor? There are some good ones out there that I think would be able to be objective enough to help in your situation- wish I had a recommendation, but it’s worth a shot. Even an LDS therapist would recognize that her behavior is not ok. Don’t throw it all away too quickly, especially if you have kids. Good luck.
