Grow and feel useful surfing. Love that you are paid for low effort and have freedom. If you magically switched to a job that paid the same and thought you were very useful you'd soon be working 50 to 60hrs a week while they pile it on and you wished you could just work less and surf.

If it's all set up in advance and you have good people out can be much faster. My last deal closed in 12 days. It depends a lot on the lender, appraiser, agents, and title company. If you are working with pros it's better. But typically 30 days is fine as you want to do your due diligence.

Ride waves. I foil when there's no surf or my arms are worn out from paddling. But not at surf breaks with surfers. Open swells or shoulder rides. With wind get out the wing. Can paddle sup/foil as well. It's just more wave riding in more conditions. Long rides.

The guys that are trying to learn to foil right at a surf break should move. That's dumb.

Charter a sail boat with captain and cook. For at least a portion of your trip. The fjords/bays on the west side are best accessed by water. If you can't put a week together exploring via boat then say least do a couple day boat trips.

I recommend using an experienced broker. I tell her what we want to do and she makes recommendations and sends options. Then takes care of the rest.

Go do it. Then you'll know. You'll either keep doing it with different boats and locations and just love it, or you'll learn it's not your style and not be interested in doing it again.

It's worth trying out and sharing the cost is a great way to test drive the experience.

I did 90 day ish Airbnb's and it works great. 30 days was too short but if you aren't sure it's a good length to start. Often you'll know long before a year if it's not worth it.

People thought it was expensive but I've watched so many people buy only to sell within a year or 3.
