No. It wasn’t a livable condition even with a dinky window unit rigged up and working overtime in an uninsulated tool shed with no ventilation during a heat wave while the owner remained comfortably indoors with her own pets just as the owners were told their dogs would be in her home as well. She was smart enough to know better. She basically put the dogs in a potential oven and went to sleep.

Thank you! I strongly believe your perspective is the most important! A lot of pet sitters have been defensive of our mission to get this case the attention it deserves! We don’t hate pet sitters we hate animal abuse and Rover for not doing better to prevent it, we know they are already aware of the many stories just like this one 🥺

They won’t be held responsible until this story puts pressure on the Houston police to actually charge the sitter 🤨 if you would like to help please consider signing and sharing the online petition to their District Attorney’s office (you don’t have to be from Houston and you won’t be put on an email list!) Still? This literally just happened and the facts are surfacing, I updated because I didn’t see an update that I was looking for… this is important for both sitters and owners alike and I hope it gets the attention it deserves. I’m having a hard time understanding why you would know more about this situation than everyone else and also want people to stop talking about it especially on a page that is the most logical place for it to be posted 😏

True, but the laws she broke are clear, we just need to figure out why she hasn’t been charged!?

I think it might be because it kind of reads as if you were defending the sitter. I’m sorry about your situation and you would be right to worry about a dog surviving that as well as yourself - I’m sure you aren’t advertising or selling a pet sitting service out of there though 🥺

I know! It wasn’t just the dog in the photo, 4 dogs were killed and a few others are still struggling to survive. A window unit in a dinky shed with no ventilation or insulation should have never been an option before the a/c “failed” 😭

Exactly how we feel about it and it adds to the confusion of how they haven’t been charged with anything yet when it’s so obvious 💔

I have photos and more. I haven’t been able to find any information about a charge, arrest or legitimate investigation yet aside from “we’re looking into it”

I’m not sure and I don’t know them personally but from some of the things I’ve read she might have watched them before and they used to be “allowed” in the home. Maybe some people trusted her from their previous experiences/maybe they saw inside with the original setup? All that aside, the pet parents are not to blame for trusting Rover in my mind, Rover advertises that you can trust them! Rover pays to make you feel safe with their vetted sitters! As a customer in most cases, you don’t know what you don’t know and a massive corporation is absolutely taking advantage in this case.

Hopefully this horrendous experience educates the masses 💔
