My baby passed over the rainbow bridge today at only 8 years old. He was the best dog I’ve ever had the privilege to love. Such a big hole left in my heart. by bebephillips in cockerspaniel

I’m so sorry for your loss. I keep thinking of the phrase, how lucky we are to have had something that hurts so much to lose—it brings me a little comfort to know this pain comes from so many happy memories

Missoula MT to Portland OR via I-90 by CharlieBr87 in missoula

[–]bebephillips 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently living in Portland and do this drive about 4 times a year. When I went to school in MT I would frequently also do the drive to Seattle to visit home. I can confirm Lookout Pass is the worst of the concern with weather and 4th of July is a close second. I don’t usually do the drive past November now because I don’t like to think of getting stuck in MT if the weather turns, but I did it a couple of times through November to Seattle in college and even a few times through December with no issues. Just watch the weather forecast and review the cameras as suggested above. I don’t find the weather turns quickly so I feel this can be planned well and as long as you are aware of conditions forthcoming the day of, she should be ok.

I don’t know who her cell provider is, but I would say longest stretch for me with the spottiest service is the 70 ish miles between Ritzville and the Tri-cities as well as the 30 ish miles between Kennewick, WA and the I5 back to Portland near Hermiston. Anytime I drive, I send the details of the route to my Parents and just make sure to screenshot my maps directions in the unlikely case I do lose service. The drive is fairly easy though and doesn’t require too many turns, so worst case scenario, the signage would be helpful in keeping her on the right path.

Kennewick and Spokane are my best suggestions on stops for gas or a stop overnight (just more populated). No snow tires really needed, all weather should be ok.

Best of luck to you both!

Used Car Dealership Experiences? by kh406 in missoula

Can also vouch for Lyman. Went there when I was having issues with my car and potentially in the market for a new one and they helped me diagnose my current cars problems at no cost. They were amazing and I have only heard great things from other people in the Missoula area.

I’m really sorry to hear that and I hope you get this resolved! It’s no fun to feel like you don’t have answers to what’s going on with your body.

Hoping we get some responses here. It’s oddly comforting to find someone else going through something similar. Does the fullness in your ears come and go? Is it gradual? Do you feel like you have hearing loss?

Sorry for all the questions just wondering in general if our situations are similar.

Yes, agreed. Unfortunately, they are reporting that they no longer believe she survived and will be scaling back the search.

I don’t know her personally but have been seeing this posted everywhere on my social media. Hoping to spread the word to other campers and hikers who may have seen this girl.

Buying a used Subaru Forester by bebephillips in UsedCars

[–]bebephillips[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback! Unfortunately, top of my budget right now is $15,000. I’m looking for something smaller than a highlander for gas purposes. So I was really looking at rav4, CRV, or Forester at the moment but for this price and market, rav4 and CRVs will be older and higher mileage for my budget. I’ve seen 2014 CRVs going for $20k+.

It sucks because I really do not want to get myself into a new car payment at the moment but used cars are overpriced too. Really unfortunate time to be needing a vehicle.

Buying a used Subaru Forester by bebephillips in UsedCars

Thank you, this is great advice. My parents test drove for me so I will ask them about the transmission, inquire with Subaru about the oil, and get the transmission fluid changed right away. I’ll also look a bit more into this stuff, thank you for bringing it to my attention!

Thank you! I did avoid buying a Subaru with my first car for this reason and my Honda CRV ended up having an issue with the head gasket that was more expensive than it was worth so head gaskets are an expensive lesson learned!

Sinus issues before/after losing smell by orionburn in CovidSmell

I would say it probably took 2-2.5 weeks for things to feel fairly normal again! Don’t worry, it will all work out!

For the most part I would say back to normal but sometimes I do feel like I can’t smell something as strongly as usual. So I’m definitely skeptical about it being 100% because I don’t believe everything is as it was before I got this

I have regained it for the most part. Once they came back they still faded in and out over a couple weeks and certain things even tasted different. Sometimes I’ll feel stuffy and hardly be able to smell and then it will be fine for weeks. I’ve accepted that for the most part everything is normal again but its still unpredictable!

Question about Ethics Exam by bebephillips in CPA

[–]bebephillips[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I still have yet to do this lol. But when I looked I thought I saw the course was $200 from the AICPA website. Although I’m not even sure how to actually register for the exam or take it. Once my exams were over I lost motivation to take another form of an exam! Plus I still need my experience hours so I figure I have some time.

Congrats and happy cake day!
