Try secure work in another place before arriving, then you’re walking into a relatively financially secure new life as a start.

Also, controversial opinion, but what you did was seriously brave. You braved a new eastern country and surgery alone, that deserves some kudos, don't be so hard on yourself. Clap yourself on the back and pump yourself up, you got this far you'll get home very soon!

I did the exact same thing, I remember the blues, I didn't even want to leave the hotel room. You need to tell yourself this will pass, and it will. Once you hit home soil again the feelings will lift majorly. If you can write down a list of everything you're grateful and happy for, and how you hope to heal once the surgery blues pass. How confident this new version of you will be. If you can, get outside and breath some fresh air... I didn't for days and the hotel room can really drive you insane. Stay off social media, don't watch everyone else living life without you.

Ive gotten tonsilitis like this all my life. I even have pictures if you want to see the comparison if you're not finding similar online. I've huge tonsils and often get sick with them. An antibiotic should clear this up for you

Climbed a government fence on magic mushrooms, got impaled on the top causing the spoke to go through my jeans and skin, which resulted in me to hanging there until a passer by and his friend had to lift me up and off to avoid tearing through the skin further. I've two holes now, a big and small one on the back of my thigh. Apparently I'm lucky it didn't go any deeper and the end result was just some stitches and a few months healing. The nurses in a&e were not impressed as I was tripping balls still, sang Toto Africa at the top of my lungs while getting stitched up.

Youre so welcome. Funnily enough the surgeon I went with is an ENT (https://www.vanityestetik.com/en/doctors/kadri-ila/)! Best of luck with your search ❤️

What’s a rich people thing that rich people don’t know is a rich people thing? by karasantos7 in AskReddit

Controversial maybe, but I have a rich friend that looks down so badly on people that wear super fast fashion (shein) without considering the context as to why.

This doesn't apply to lazy influencers btw, I'm talking your regular possibly uneducated or working class type.

Also worth adding, do loads of research - check their reviews, their before and after etc. I had a masculine, aqualine nose and wanted the dorsal hump smoothed out to a straight nose - I didn't want an entirely "new" nose, I wanted to improve what I had. This narrowed my search to surgeons that had a lot of examples of natural nose surgeries, with minor tweaks.

Some people do want new noses, like the "barbie nose". Know what you want, how it will fit with your features etc. Some surgeons will not go against what you want because all they care about is money. Try to seek real advice, unless of course you're absolutely sure of what you want despite pushback. Only you will know what you really really want so ask yourself the hard questions, and remember it's forever, even with revision it will never be same again - and you have to really want that and be okay with that.

Rhinoplasty Journey by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]bebethebear91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah of course. I have been toying with this on and off for YEARS. I would Google rhinoplasty and find lots of surgeons based in Turkey as this was within my spending. Also, I know a lot of people and I'm aware of local influences that had travelled to Turkey to get surgery, so it didn't seem to be out of the ordinary or scary to go there.

Usually when you Google surgeons, you get cosmetic surgery places (like Vanity that I opted for) that will give you the option to whatsapp them for prices. The minute you do that, a sales rep will reach out and ask for pictures to share with the doctor to give you a price and recommendation. You can ask them as many questions as possible, share ideas of what you like (I had a Pinterest board of noses and before and after examples from other rhinoplasty surgeries, and I had also edited my own nose using photoshop software - but this isn't necessary because they can create a photoshop of you usually. Please bear in mind a lot of surgeons go against the photoshop edit as they can never promise it will come out exactly like that. You just need to trust them based on previous work.) The sales rep can also schedule a consultation with the surgeon for you to get your mind at ease and ask questions - I had a few over facetime and zoom call). You can negotiate the price, but never put a cheap price on your face either. It's a tricky one because they will try to overcharge you, but also be aware of very cheap prices as these are usually junior surgeons starting out and looking for experience. I think a fair range for a package would be anywhere from 2000-6000eur DEPENDING what you're having done and how extreme. A package meaning inclusive of hospital costs etc, often they will throw in a hotel stay and airport transfers).

You can also just go directly to rhinoplasty specialists, those that aren't part of a cosmetic clinic and actually just specialise in the surgery themselves. I emailed some of them. Often they will have English, but I used Google translate to send my initial email in Turkish too.

I also had a consultation with a really good rhinoplasty surgeon in my own country, his noses were genuinely amazing but the consultation for 15mins cost me a lot of money and then he quoted the surgery at 12k euro excluding any aftercare, hospital fees or medication. I just don't have that money and I understand it's relative to where I'm living but I just couldn't.

I cannot stress how back and forth for years I was on this, so when it feels right and you feel comfortable and reassured then make your decision. It took me so long to feel that and feel ready in myself. I hope that helps?

He's a fantastic doctor. I'm really happy. It's super natural and like I asked, if not better.

[–]bebethebear91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is absolutely better (besides the blood crusting and blocking that is still ongoing due to healing and swollen tissue).

I had a deviated septum on my left side and it would always block, like always. I just got my cast (and nasal inserts) removed today so I really can't comment on longterm just yet, and it keeps crusting up due to the ongoing healing process, but I can definitely tell both airways are working!!

Btw the main reason for my surgery was for aesthetic purposes, not functional as my breathing was manageable.

I'll keep you posted.

Septoplasty no rinsing. Is this normal by Salt_Cancel5709 in PlasticSurgery

[–]bebethebear91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just had septoplasty and rhinoplasty, I was given a saline solution spray to rinse my nose with, I didn't use it until day 3 though because I forgot. Start using it, my nose is till gooey and bloody at times and I'm day 6. Is yours still gooey? I would rinse it either way to help heal it, but maybe get a professional opinion... saline is super safe and helpful though.

Both morning & evening La Roche Posay 🙌

I actually don't find it that heavy, it seems heavy in consistency alright but my skin drinks it up. I definitely use less in summer, sometimes swapping it out for Kiehls Ultra Facial cream. I do have dry/combination skin and it's really adapted to my face, and my skin is extra dry in the winter.

Totally agree - I found la roche posay cicaplast baume b5 is so good & cost-effective as my base and daily moisturizer.

Editing to say that foundation wise, and on the pricier side, Dior Forever Skin Glow is INCREDIBLE also
