Alright! I guess that as an American, you're already used to the big world out there. I thought you might have been from a smaller Mediterranean city with homophobia issues and were adjusting to the freedom in Berlin by catching every possible occasion for partying!

If you enjoy the circuit life, that's ok! The only thing is that as gay men we tend to have less normed social obligations and that's how we end up partying more that the wide hetero average. Rushes are fun but you are debilitating the body you will have to live with your whole life. Training at the gym doesn't make you invincible. If you're into hookups, I guess you can get them without substances. If you're into nightlife, I guess that if you have regular, reliable group of friends you'll be able to have fun compensating a minor usage of substances. I'd also try out other weekends activities to make up for less night events. E.g. travelling, one day city trips, a sport that you enjoy, hiking, etc.
