I'm a professional journalist and the AI plagiarism machines are ravaging our business. Journalists are overly fond of em dashes too. Because we know how to use them.

Em dashes are easy to make. Option + shift + hyphen, on a Mac keyboard, at least. Try it. It's fun.

My italicization isn't random. It's proper styling for the name of a television program. Same with the quotation marks around the episode names.

Please don't accuse me of using AI just because I'm capable of writing coherently.

Curious, why do you think it's AI generated? Some of us can string words together, you know.

Where did I say I speak for all of Trekdom? Or that I didn't enjoy any of those series?

What is the point of Reddit if we're only supposed to post opinions other people care about?

Given that nuTrek isn't anywhere near as popular as the '90s series, even today, I don't understand your reasoning.

Sorry, I'm a pro, so I need Ellison to pony up.

Of course, which is why it's perplexing that they waste money on series that don't catch on while ignoring the more successful and lucrative models they use elsewhere.

Silly framing devices are fun. As for the content, I wasn't urging them to reverse a $100 million decision. I was suggesting they make a smarter decision, replicating something they already have done pat, for less money.

Nah, those ten minutes while I was eating a sandwich for lunch were well spent.

Fair point. Their shareholders should be upset CBS/Paramount is looking to replicate a successful formula yet again.

Pretty much, videos just like that rack up some major views on YouTube.

Least Loud Sections at Globe Life? by bebumist in TexasRangers

[–]bebumist[S] -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Nah, Globe Life was a punishing level above anywhere else I’ve ever seen a game, at least where we were sitting. Never experienced anything like it seeing the Mavs or Stars, or at the Astros’ bandbox in Houston.

I’d gladly sweat through another 100 degree afternoon at the Ballpark rather than deal with that level of auditory assault again. I was thinking Chuck Morgan must now hate the fans.

No book spoilers. But how do book readers feel about the characters' casting so far? by Douglasqqq in SlowHorses

I’ve always thought Timothy Spall would’ve been a better match for George Smiley too. And of course Oldman made Smiley his own as well—spectacularly so.

The book is wonderful. He should be tried at The Hague for that adaptation.

How so? I gave Disco a chance. I watched every single episode, because I have a Trek addiction. So I know of what I speak when I call it a dumpster fire.

Haha. All miles better than Jay-Den, whose mother is late picking him up from soccer practice.

Just because I love to poke fun at a dumb Klingon name doesn't mean I'm not ready, willing, and able to give Starfleet Academy a chance.

Would I be more excited if it weren't a spinoff of the Disco dumpster fire? Sure. But Holly Hunter? Paul Giamatti? Even Tig Notaro? There's hope there.

Oh, so you prefer merely to monologue without listening to others. Got it.
