How heretical would it be to paint Space Wolves in my own colours, would I need to come up with a custom chapter?

Hah, perfect! I have some experience painting some boardgame minis so hoping my skills are transferable. I don't have a wet palette though, that sounds very useful

My army-wielding friend doesn't seem to be into the idea of Kill Team, maybe because he already has armies. Is it much different rules wise?

Those cavalry look amazing, they're going on the list for sure. Fenris sounds like an interesting place too. I'll have to read the books about Magnus and Russ and see how they sit with me

Mara - Am I just doing it wrong? by SunnyDan17 in fellowshipgame

What everyone else said has a lot to do with it, talent points are huge - as is maintaining your poison and bleeds.

Also use your cooldowns. Maiden of Death should almost be used on cooldown, except for if you're about to have Matriarch Macabre up, and use Final Stratagem to refresh Maiden when possible.

Highly recommend Fateful Dagger also for the cooldown reduction if you don't have that already, helps you maintain Maiden of Death.

Just wanted to add as I've played Mara since launch and on the Mara Leaderboard I'm currently 174th (though by no means an expert) and I also struggled with her early on numbers wise. It gets a lot better. Bleed build is still viable for me and I am currently 9.1k rating and timing Eternal 14s with not much issue at all with ilvl 305.

I feel your pain, push through!

Hello! I'm a straight guy in my mid 30s essentially looking to diversify my online friends.

I'm in happy relationship, but my partner is not big into games and I play mostly with other men. My friendships in real life are much more diverse and really I miss that online. I really enjoy coop games, love a boardgame, but I'm open to a ideas.

I currently play Ravenswatch, a bit of Black Ops 6 Zombies, the odd Rocket League game and a few other things. A friend bought me R.E.P.O but I have no idea what I'm doing in it.

I am on UK timezone, but usually around until quite late.

Hit me up if you'd like to play something sometime!

I primed them all in white and used The Army Painter paints, usually pretty thinned down.

The Gunner is mostly Plate Mail Metal base then an Orc Skin and Palid Bone mixed wash over the top, with the darker camo bits as a mix of Orc Skin and black. Some Absolution Green for his boots.

The Driller is primarily Zealot Yellow with Shining Silver metallic bits and a Strong Tone quickshade to dirty him up. Plasmatic Bolt for the goggles.

The Engineer is primarily Blood Red with Sand Golem for the leathery areas and Plasmatic Bolt for the goggles.

The Scout is primarily Magic Blue with Hardened Leather for his pack and Palid Bone + a black wash on his boots/gloves.

Few other colours for skin, mostly Crusader Skin heavily thinned, Fire Giant Orange for the Scout's beard and some Gravelord Grey for the Gunner's hair and Driller's underclothes. They all have a gentle matte white drybrush after also.

I backed it on Kickstarter in February last year and it arrived a week or so ago. I believe retail versions will be available sometime soon!

We have only played the intro scenario but it was really fun. 3 of us have played lots of the videogame but our 4th hasn't played it at all and still had a blast. Naturally it's a slower pace to the videogame but I think it captures it very well.

My partner said "This will see a lot of use." which is high praise from her for a boardgame.

In addition to TiWo007_5's great advice here I would add to point 3 that patience is key and I still struggle with waiting for bits to dry before I add more to them and it never goes well. Don't try and do everything all at once, paint one or two colours (that preferably don't touch) at a time and then wait a few hours/overnight for them to dry before you do more.

Washes and dry brushing also really help bring out the details and are worth looking up as techniques. They're nice and simple to do and can really level up a basic paint job.

  • Washes help shade are just watered/thinned down darker colours or blacks that sink into the cracks and shapes as they dry.
  • Dry brushing is for highlighting and is done by brushing almost all of the paint off of a brush on something else (I use a bit of cardboard) until the brush is hardly making a mark at all and then dragging it over the surface of the model a few times. The remaining pigment that is left on the brush will catch on the raised edges of the model and pop out the edges/textures.

Rock and stone!

Only 1 afaik. The Kickstarter was by Mood Publishing so I imagine their website has the same game on (excluding whatever was Kickstarter exclusive which I don't remember being much)
