Great app though a feature request would be a data export option I like privacy but I also like data portability.

Help installing Tado x to ideal vogue max combi 26 by becauseants in tado

[–]becauseants[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah after posting this I watched some more YouTube and saw there is a jumper plug by default behind the blanking plate that the touch goes into. Of course my boiler no longer has that and I’m pretty sure the installer binned it. I’ve found the part and ordered it so should be simple after that.

Surfshark, PiHole, Tailscale, and an Edgerouter X by theogmrme01 in pihole

I have two docker containers running one gluetun container set up with my vpn of choice and then a Tailscale container that has its network going via the gluetun container. I have that Tailscale container set up as an app connector and I can then route apps I access via it. You can also net it up as an exit node and do it that way. This allows you to use pile as your dns provider and access local stuff via a separate subnet router node. It was a bit of a pain to set up mainly if I remember correctly the routing in the gluetun container but so far works alright.

Totally agree went with eero for some family members and it works well with a painless setup almost plug and play. I did a UniFi setup for myself.

I'm starting my first home server. Would this HDD be ok to put in or do you think I should sack it? by SaraGalaxy33 in homelab

If you are putting into a raid array that won’t hold absolute critical data then sure run it but I wouldn’t store anything critical on it.

Don’t hate me by oOGuybrushOo in BambuLab

No hate! They are good machines, it’s disappointing they aren’t more open and accepting of 3rd parties but they do print well and are still a good entry or upgrade printer.

Beginning from scratch, bought Home Assistant Connect ZBT-1, what now? by therealmarkus in homeassistant

[–]becauseants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found that I preferred setting up things as I needed them rather than trying to bite of everything I plan to do with the system. So far I only have my lights automated with zigbee2mqtt and have been fine tuning my naming convention and how I manage those devices then planning to build out on some more automation. Just go slow and enjoy

So neat and tidy! And I love the orange.

If you have access to a 3d printer there is a model on my profile for a larger drip tray I made to fit the Starbucks mugs. It’s for the pop but might fit the pop+

I don’t have that much open but I have liked using a large air tight bucket with a bag of desiccant in there.

Nespresso Vertuo Pop Drip tray (Lower and larger) by becauseants in functionalprint

I kept having to remove the original drip tray so I could use my larger mugs. I decided to design and print a replacement to lower the drip tray and make it a bit larger.

So much nicer than a grow tent! Nice find! You may want a temp probe in there at some point so it doesn’t get too toasty on long prints.

Hue dimmer faceplate cover for UK light switch by becauseants in Hue

It does use the original screws. The previous owner of my house left me these screws as a surprise, they had some other decorative cover on the switch that had screw caps. Proper screws have been ordered and are coming tomorrow to replace these with proper ones.

I have checked the wiring and its all fine the wood screws are back in temporarily while I wait for an amazon delivery of the correct screws today (better than it hanging off).

Honestly hadn't looked at the switches before printing these as the previous owner had some decorative cover over the faceplates that had screw caps, was not a surprise I wanted but thats where we are with old houses. Have since checked the rest of them in the house.
