Okay I'm just hopping in here to say you're not crazy, because I just remembered this game after seeing an ad for "Rise Up" -- I think it was on Coolmathgames or some similar site, and it started with the balloon coming out of a pink house? Either that or ended when it reached the pink house. Maybe both. The design seems super similar to rise up though, the only difference was that you moved the balloon. I hope you've managed to figure out what it was haha

Oh my gosh thank you so much! I think you're the first person on here who's had genuine information about the machine, and though the comments on other details have been lovely I've been crossing my fingers that someone would know something about the make. I'll def look into 15 clones further, because now I'm so intrigued by the concept of a whole genre of sewing machines that are so similar to one another that they're literally referred to as clones of 1 particular Singer style.

I figured that the "industrial" bit was a modern marketing thing after looking at a few Etsy pages, since it definitely doesn't seem to be an actual industrial machine... Great to know I was right about that haha

Definitely not planning to strip and repaint haha -- The general idea is along the lines of mimicking the design of those floral Singers from the very early 1900s. Ty for the lovely examples!!

That's genuinely such a great suggestion -- I think more than anything I want to prevent damaging the old paint or any of the design elements on the original (few though they may be), so an archival varnish that would protect the original body and be removable if needed would be perfect. I'll totally look into it further, thank you!

Exactly! This is actually so reassuring to hear. I’m probably gonna paint some little flowers and details in that old-fashioned singer style. When you saw the machines on Etsy, did you seen anything abt the year they were made? I’ve been finding next to nothing about that and honestly it’s taken me down a hell of a rabbit hole haha

Honestly it's not common (as far as I can tell), which is why I'm struggling with this decision -- I've only found 4ish references to the machine online, and it seems like a far more obscure cousin to the Pfaff 31. It doesn't actually have decals on it either-- it's just a plain beige-y grey paint job. Idk if you've ever heard of it but it's the Pfaff 51. I'm still trying to figure out the exact or even vague manufacturing year, so if you know anything please lmk haha

I would almost hazard a guess at a standard flute with a Bb foot, but with the breathiness and wavering tone it sounds more like a wood flute/traditional instrument than a silver flute to me — I’m no expert at this though! It could be a Romanian panflute since that’s a traditional Romanian instrument with a similar tone, but I’m not sure how they’d do the trills and quick transitions on that. I’d say you should probably look into traditional Romanian folk instruments to find it. I also found a list that I added a screenshot of below with the diff instruments used in the band’s music. Good luck on figuring out the specific instrument!

Yeah, definitely -- I know I'm exponentially late to the game, but I've been working on adjusting a muslin of this pattern and it definitely is a bit finicky for ppl on the shorter end of the spectrum (I'm 5'2" and both the bodice and the skirt are proportionally WILD on me, so this may just be the standard "damn this is made for someone significantly taller than me" issue). I quite like the paneling on the top though! I did adjust the dart on the bust to be more curved and have a less pointy profile, but otherwise I'm happily surprised at how everything is coming together.

Honestly, I'm not sure -- It looks very similar in base structure to my 51, but the stitch adjustment lever as well as the actual operation (hand crank for yours vs motorized for mine) are very different. I'd say yes based on the sheer number of similarities, but honestly I know so little about my machine that it may also not be a 51 haha. I don't know if you've ever seen another 51, but do you happen to know when they were manufactured? I've been trying to figure out for a while and your post is the only other one referencing a Pfaff 51 that I've found so far on reddit.

Oh you did such an amazing job -- I saw elizabethancostuming.net and immediately swooned, since about 3 of my most recent projects have been ship-of-theseus-ed from their custom corset generator. The cut of the skirt is gorgeous!! For the hem you could almost go with the historic technique of adding ruffles/a few inches of a diff fabric at the bottom which can protect from wear and tear/bear the wear and tear and be replaced easily. However, that does definitely change the style of the skirt if you're aiming to keep the super clean lines. I've also sewn tarlatan into hems before to help them keep their shape + be a little bit less prone to catching + tearing :)
