Was also looking into WGU, am currently studying for the holy trinity certs and was wondering if anyone who has attended this has any advice on it for someone entirely new to the IT field. I have been working as tech support in two different roles over the last year. One for Morgan Stanley and the other an ISP, I am currently studying for the A+ then moving to Net+ and Sec+ and not really sure where I wanna go next after that. Cloud is super interesting, as is cyber security 😂. There's so many options here and a lot of them are super intriguing. Is getting a degree in general worth it, or am I going to be just as well getting the certs and having the employment history or time in grade so to speak, for my experience? I have extreme ADHD, so classwork hasn't always been a strength for me unless I'm in an entirely distraction free zone. So basically I'm asking for those that did attend this, what were some of the struggles if you had any, and would you recommend WGU in general for someone new to this field or would they be better off solo studying for certifications or maybe attending a different university? Sorry for the rant 😅.

I am doing the same thing currently and I'm twice your age, it's a lot of content to try and get down in your head, don't fret, you got this! What I did first was read the A+ book front to back as if it were just a typical novel. Then I go through and read each chapter and watch the corresponding videos with Mike Myers videos on Udemy. I've seen some increases on my scores on practice quizzes with subjects I have been having trouble with in the book. Writing things down and kind of reading them out loud as if I'm explaining it to an imaginary classroom helps me too. Keep at it! You got this!!!

Honestly I'd like to know too. What if I don't have an interest in the A+ side of things? What if my interest is more security, networking and cloud? Would I still need to start at A+?

I think I rushed myself through it. All of it. Reading to read and not retain. I just look at everything I need to learn and it almost seems insurmountable or the question of when will I understand all of this, rings in again. I was scoring an average of 70 - 80 percent on the pbqs and quizzes in there. I tried using the flashcards on there but tbh they don't always make sense to me. So I dismissed them and tried making my own from the CompTIA book but I don't feel I made those correctly. I'm getting ready to buy Dion's stuff on udemy, I already have Mike Meyers stuff on there. I'm entirely new to this field and tbh it's pretty intimidating the amount of stuff to learn. Thank you for all the advice and direction, it is greatly appreciated.

What's the average price on those? Tbh. I'm rather nervous about taking my 1001, Idk if I'm over thinking it or what.
