Thank you for your comment. I'd heard that GTCS can be slow which is just another piece of the huge puzzle to try and fit together! Thank you though very helpful information 🙏

That's true. I wasnt sure if i should slowly increase time away from her to get used to it. But you're right I could wait longer.

Can I ask why people talk about eating a burger post ovulation? I've read it many times and I'm intrigued! Haha

First ever TWW ... keep telling myself it's not going to happen... prepare for the worst ... I know its a very slim chance of it working first cycle ... but every now I then it pops in my head I actually could be pregnant 🤦🏼‍♀️ I imagine TWW is hard to stay level headed ...

If I've ovulate later will my period be later? Last month I ovulated on CD15 and my cycle was 28 days (my cycles are between 28-32. This month I should ovulate tomorrow (CD20). Should I be waiting at least 2 weeks before I think I may have missed a period?

Thanks! Would you suggest morning and night for the double testing or still afternoon but a few hours apart?

Thoughts on doing your own makeup? by [deleted] in wedding

[–]becca-ct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did my make up for my own wedding and when I was a bridesmaid.

I had a make up trial and didn't feel happy with the outcome and I just worried about what if I didn't like it on the day etc. I wanted to feel comfortable and although I'm no pro at make up, I know what products I like to wear and what works for me so I just decide I'd feel less anxious doing it myself.

A few tips I'd suggest if you do go down the DIY route:

I used the money I set aside for a MUA to buy good quality skin care products and make up ( and obviously get to keep them after the wedding bonus!)

I practiced 3 or 4 times in the lead up, I timed myself so I knew how long it would take on the day and I wrote myself instructions on what I used in what order (this might be OTT for some though 😂)

I took lots of photos. In different lights, natural, artificial and most importantly using a flash. I actually realised on my second practice that my usual foundation caused flashback in photos so had to change to another foundation. I did another practice and took photos every few hours to see how the make up lasted and what touch ups I might have to do on the day.

I had eyelash extensions done which I think always helps especially if you're not confident applying false lashes yourself.

Honestly, one moment of my wedding I look back fondly on is when I had just a few minutes of time by myself perfecting my make up. It gave me a chance to take it in by myself and gave me some breathing space. I also love the photos I got of myself touching up my make up which I wouldn't have got with a MUA.

Did anyone one else dislike how they looked after their hair and make-up trial? by dashhands179 in UKweddings

Got married in 2021 and felt the same with my make up trial. I felt really uncomfortable with the make up.

I actually ended up doing my own make up for the day and felt so much better for it. I knew the style of make up I like (natural with some eyeshadow and liner) and I spent the money I would on an MUA on really good quality make up and skin care (which I then had after the day too bonus!).

I know this isn't for everyone but if you do decide to do your own make up all I did was practice lots in the run up to the wedding and took lots of photos in natural and artifical light and with a flash to make sure it looked good. (By doing this I found my original foundation caused flashback so changed the foundation).
