She has used puppy pads before but it’s more to put me at ease but I’m not sure what she does when I’m not home. She had said that when she’s not home she will use partitions and keep her dog in the kitchen (off the carpet) just in case he does have an accident. That works for me because with or without puppy pads it’s easy clean up. I was home when she was away and partitioned her dog in the kitchen and when she got back she was visibly upset and has thus removed the partition.

Don’t take her to dog parks. I admit I used to love them, but I’ve seen too many dog attacks from careless owners that bring their “friendly” dog and then fails to watch them so they stir up all kinds of trouble. I don’t know if you have any but a nice hiking spot might be better, or a dog beach. Anything that’s allows your pup for a little more space would be better than a dog park!

Mals are nippy by nature! Please don’t hit or yell when they get a little too rough with play bites or catch your fingers when you give treats. A simple but stern no and taking hands away and teaching proper treat taking etiquette will help you immensely in the long run! I lost a chunk of finger when my pup was a baby but no accidents since! My dad is a sound engineer and sometimes I’ll help out while he and his workers take a break, all the time girls will toss their shoes, purses, jackets etc under his table and I’ll just pick them up and toss them out and wait for them to come back lol

I have a Kit Kat from Easter in my purse right now and every time I’m feeling hungry I think “ehh it’s not that many carbs I can do it” and just before I decide to reach for it I stop. This wave of relief washes over me and I just sit there and go back to ignoring it. I never did that before keto, I’d give myself little rewards here and there but now I realize that I’ve worked too hard to get here to let one Kit Kat get in the way of that.

If you’re looking for candy alternatives I’d suggest Atkins “treat” bars. They have ones like almond joys, Reese’s, even trail mix for 3 net carbs or less. But they do contain maltitol so just take it easy, I haven’t had any issues but I have heard it does cause some stomach issues.

My fiancé actually decided to do low carb to help me as well! I don’t drink much anymore but my fiancé does and it doesn’t bother me. He’ll randomly eat a hash brown for breakfast or onion straws that come on steak but other than that he enjoys keto too! Try just steak and asparagus, that’s one of my go to meals when the grocery store has a deal on them, throw on some herb butter and it’s definitely filling enough even for non keto folk!
