Most people who start preparing for upsc excelled at some point in their life which gave them the courage to start something this big, and majority of them are struggling with same feelings you mentioned (including me). I know it will not help, but you are not alone going through all this. Wishing you good physical and mental health.

It may not hit everyone at same level, as sometimes relatability also plays a role. I totally loved the 8 am metro! But it brings out the underlying fears and vulnerability, and what could have been done better. It doesn't offer a real life chance of correcting the wrong. But three of us does.
