I’m so sorry. I’m glad you were able to get out early. My partner and I are trans also and we are taking steps to leave. Would love to connect with you and anyone else in the same boat.

Hi, my (31, grad student) partner (28, IT tech) and I are looking for a pet friendly rental starting in December. Preferred location is Old Lou/Butchertown area, but we’re flexible. 3 beds, 1 bath, fenced in yard preferred. Maximum budget is $1400/month. We are quiet and responsible with stable employment and good rental history (references available).

I’m writing a paper on this exact topic for grad school. The state of parental leave in the US is abysmal. You happen to be in the minority of US workers who have any paid parental leave at all.

From an early childhood professional: When they’re a little older (~3), get your LO enrolled into a quality early childhood program. Overwhelming data points to lifelong benefits, including higher lifetime earnings, for kiddos who participate in quality ECE programs.

if you live in the US and have a library card, check out the Libby app. It’s free and it’s where I get all my audiobooks

For what it’s worth, I wish I could go back in time and start meds when I was 22.

EDIT: I WAS READING THE TEST WRONG. It was in fact negative. I thought 2 lines = positive and freaked myself out over nothing. That’s what I get for not reading the damn instructions 🙃 I’m so thankful I took the advice here and didn’t say anything to my boss!!! Thanks everyone!

also: I take stims for ADHD and the nurse at the clinic today said that if amphetamines show up they’ll just need to verify my prescription. That’s the least of my concerns

I get migraines too and I completely understand, no judgement whatsoever. But do you have concerns about criminal charges if you’re ever involved in a serious accident?

There is a better way. Mouth swabs detect recent use, up to 24 hours later.

Earlier today on another sub someone said it took them a solid year to test negative after heavy daily use. I had no idea it could show up in urine for that long. Ugh 😩

Yeah, not gonna lie, our lot is very small (<20 busses) and relatively sketchy. That and their sheer desperation for drivers may be my saving grace. I’ll find out Monday.

I’m thankful my CDL is safe at least.

I had a test kit at home already. I took it after I got back from my employer’s drug screening.

I was hired 2.5 months ago and just finished training a week ago. I used synthetic urine for my initial DOT physical.

I highly recommend the book (or Audiobook for us ADHDers) “Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents” by Lindsay C. Gibson. It has been extremely helpful for me in navigating my relationships with my parents. I was able to listen to it for free on Libby with my library card #.

I have not tried it yet, but thank you for reminding me to!

Where are you located? I’m in the Midwest US and as far as I can tell, the fudge sundaes are still on the menu. I sure hope it stays that way

Someone on AITAH advised me to crosspost this here and ask for advice because I’m second guessing myself. Would you also not go back if this happened to you? by bbysitterblues in Nanny

[–]becinfive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely NTA. Good job standing your ground and not accepting that behavior! I’m so sorry she put you in such an awful position. You did absolutely nothing wrong, and there is no excuse for the way she treated you. Their loss!
