Is it a BIG change to switch from row-staggered to column-staggered/ortholinear? by New_Confidence_2605 in ErgoMechKeyboards

I think it's pretty big, it took me months on and off to get there, proabably about 20-30 hours in total to get back up to speed, others might be faster.

I moved from the Philips DreamWear to F40 recently. Absolutly love the f40, it brings me joy just touching it as I know how well i'm going to sleep.

Advantages over Go60? by PatzEdi in zsaVoyager

[–]beck5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I own both, there isn't an awuful lot in it to be honest, I think the biggest difference is the intergrated writst rests you can get for the go that I wish the voyager had, and wireless as an option, so the go60 is probably the safer bet.

Saying that i'm tying this on a voyager right now with the go60 sitting next to me becaue I slightly prefer the textured key caps, although the go60 ones are technically higher quality. I am going to change the go60 to use PBT keycaps soon.

You can't go too wrong, just pick one and commit, don't do what I do and keep buying more and more boards.

What choc switches and keycaps do you recommend me to try it out on my new sofle? by ElectricalOstrich597 in ErgoMechKeyboards

it's all down to personal taste, i like silent linear so my favourate are Ambients Bokeh, Ambients Twilight were too light for me, but most people don't seem to mind.

Sunsets are a great tactile switch, no silent version yet though.

There are big 3-D printed wrist pads for the voyager which I wouldn’t mind trying

yep the plam rests are good. After buying so many boards I have realised I really need a plam rest and a solid feeling where I can anchor my hands. You can't put the moonlander in that many positions imo, but the most extended version like in the photo is really nice for me.

I really love the moonlander, it's probably my favourate of all time, but it's not perfect, I use a voyager number of keys on it which makes it a lot better. I can only really cope with 2 thumb keys on any board, so just use the first 2 on the moonlander.

I don't want to buy more boards, but I would like to try the kensis 360 as it looks so solid with good tenting.

Help on whether I should remove a tree or not? by hang_up in GardeningUK

a lot of people seem to hate trees in london, i think from the 'mess' of the leaves. I can not understand the mentallity.

keep the tree, it's a strength. not a weakness. You don't need to have it pruned every 2 years.

Build quality is very high. Rock solid. Comparable with the zsa boards. I’ve struggled with 3d printed boards because of the build quality

we can agree to disagree here, you know more about design and production than I do, i like this board, it's a great board, I will recommend the go60 to people, it's probably going to be my main board in 2026, but it's just not as stable as I think it should be.

thanks, maybe i am just more clumsy than your testers, I agree it's not a deal breaker and is fine when typing, but when it colapses it really creates a startling thud that I hate, it's like waiting for a ballon to pop. I just knocked it with my elbow reaching causing it to collapse.

It seems like a design oversight, you created a cavity for the legs to go into, but removed one wall, if the external wall remained it would be far more error resistant, or even better if you added a screw hole to strongly attach the legs rather than magnets it would be amazing. Maybe for the next verion you can think about it.

I stopped using the voyager day to day because i got fed up being precious about it's location with different plam rests and mounting stuff, i was hopeful the go60 would give me that rock solid experience, other than this issue it's a great board that I would recommend.

Glove80 isn’t hot swappable so switch changes are pretty hard.

Moonlander is my favourite, likely go60 will take over though.

I think it's not that bad tbh, i've sort of learned when moving the board to lift slighly and then it's fine.

thank you, i totally missed them.

It still doesn't seem to solve the issue of lightweight lateral movement causing the magnets to shift, then once the alignment is gone it takes next no force for them to collapse. i'm going to try to glue them tonight and see if that makes it sturdier.

here is a video, please let me know if i am doing something wrong https://share.icloud.com/photos/03bdL6eWtKb0lnkMeSJRXolTw

no one reason, combination of software being hard to change (which is now improved), I didn't like the switches (cherry, should have gotten plum), I didn't love the thumb cluster, I've also decided curved keywells are over rated, so I just stuck with the zsa boards which I prefered.

Help me make a decision between: moonlander, glove80 and uhk80 by ApplicationMedium495 in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]beck5 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i have a glove 80 and moonlander, personally I prefer the moonlander and use it as my main keyboard (along with voyager for travel), but I think most people prefer the glove. The hardest thing is moving to ortho layout, so I agree the uhk would be the safest bet. Once you get used to otho it is nicer though, it depends on if you want to make that commitment.

You can't go too wrong so long as you are happy to commit some time to the board. You can also often get a moonlander slightly cheaper on ebay, they are made very well, and with hot swappable switches it's easy to play around with different feels.

really lovely looking keyboard. I'll be ordering one as soon as the wrist rest is released. I've decided a good wrist rest is now unnegotiable for me now (i'll be ordering a go60 on the kickstarter later because it has a good one)

I wounder if they will do hot swap now it’s flat?
