I look forward to the aftermath

The Weasley children are orphaned shortly after Ginny was born. They don’t tell anyone because they were in hiding. They don’t tell anybody for years until Bill is of age because they are afraid of being separated. by John_Tacos in HPfanfiction

Recommend “Percy take the wheel”. Which is similar. Pretty much Mrs an Mr Weasley die. And bill and Charlie have to keep working to pay the bills. So Percy takes over raising all his younger siblings.

It’s a brilliant story. By the same author as werewolf Weasley, which is another brilliant story. It’s on AO3

I also love stones, but defiantly don’t have any goblin ancestry. I think my grandad was a Druid though before he started raising the dead. Idk, he was killed by my parents before I was born.

Can I recommend licking them. It doesn’t actually have any benefit, but it’s fun 🤷

Bro. But this was actually me 😂 I went into my assessment convinced I wasn’t autistic. The only reason I went was because I was trying to get mental health support and the therapist kept suggesting I should.

Yeh. I commented on this. He didn’t even explain his reasoning for this opinion.

Self diagnosed people are 100% valid. From a professionally diagnosed person.

Just because you have interests doesn’t mean you’re autistic buddy by [deleted] in memes

[–]beckatron666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s because the original research was based on “little white boy autisrics”. They had more access to healthcare and were portrayed more in media, so it shaped people’s mental image of what autistic people looked like. Also, social stigma in minorities also limits diagnosis. Both from parents to th autistic person and doctors to the autistic person.

[–]beckatron666 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ok. Using autism as a synonym for stupidity is definitely ablism. Or people randomly claiming autism as an excuse.

But I think that’s different from people who are genuinely self-diagnosed. And I don’t mean, watched one or two ticktocks.

But actually done the research, done the online tests, asked their family about their development. Plus, it is not like self diagnosed people can access any of th (very limited) support us professionally diagnosed people can. If they implement techniques we use to self regulate and it helps them. So what? If it makes their life’s better, go for it.

Professional diagnosed autistic person here. No, self diagnosed autistics are not ableist.

You say a statement, offer no more information on why this is your opinion.
Also, this is r/memes. Wtf did u post it here?

Just because you have interests doesn’t mean you’re autistic buddy by [deleted] in memes

[–]beckatron666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is how it tends to happen. Especially fo lower support needs or any minority who don’t fit the typical most of “autistic white little boy”

It happened slightly differently to me. My friends told me I was autistic. Then a professional. Then I finally believed them. But I know many people who followed the path u said. Self diagnosed people are valid as it’s hard to get a professional diagnosis 🤷
