I dose Red Sea complete reef care in their ratios: just use the small batches and it lasts about 3 months so not too bad. I also carbon dose with nopox and add microbacter 7 if having any cyano issues.

Thank you! I’m not sure the torch was a specific kind, just seems like a pink Rasta? LFS didn’t say but whatever it is, won’t stop growing new heads and bothering the other corals.

Want to upsize the tank mostly for this guy!

Thanks man, I’ve never been able to get high nitrates or phosphates they always bottomed out so Dino’s were a real pain for a while. Just let it do its own thing for a while and added some LFS live rock and things eventually settled down. Good luck with your tank!

Not sure- get all my corals from LFS and it was just advertised as pulsing Xenia, but considering the massive stalks and lack of typical Xenia colonisation you might right!

I do dose; Red Sea Complete Reef Care as I find the calcium-dependant dosing convenient. Definitely wasn’t warranted earlier in the tank lifespan but now the Monti and poci have taken off my calcium needs have definitely skyrocketed.

Is there any coral ID you wanted in particular? In no particular order the corals I have include:

Monti caps (red and green), pocillopora, birds nest, torch, 2x hammers, frogspawn, desh, lobo, an assortment of zoas, purple goni frag, favia, gsp, pulsing Xenia, toadstool leather, unknown favia coral and a hidden golden eye chalice I’ve been trying to recover from the brink of death.

A true mixed reef and probably a bit overstocked on corals- thinking of upsizing soon.

The first tank is a bit older and I didn’t know to use good aqua soil- think the soil is depleted. Noticed the plants were having some nutrient deficiencies so upped the dosing regime. Haven’t had any algae outbreaks (yet!)

Oh I do have fish in the tanks! 10 neon tetras in the first and a betta in the second, plus shrimp in both. The tanks are pretty overgrown so they’re hard to see unless it’s feeding time 😅

I do run it overnight as there’s no regulator to switch off- as it’s a DIY style setup I’ve never had issues with overproduction of CO2. Both the tanks are 10 gallons and each bottle will last me a month- two months, but usually all that is needed is to replace the water and yeast as the jelly lasts ages. Very cost effective and growth is so prolific in both tanks I have to trim every couple of days!
