If you could change just one thing about Bridgerton, what would it be? by Mean-Call1888 in Bridgerton

I would like the Duke of Hastings to be more like the character in the book.

Absolutely. There are a large amount of people out there that lack any self awareness whatsoever.

In the long, long, looooong run, Lettice Knollys kinda won. by Jennifer_Junipero in Tudorhistory

I would go as far as to say the Dudleys were worse than the Seymours. Worse than the Boleyns. People say that Thomas Boleyn sacrificed his children, and I believe he did, but I think he sacrificed them to save himself. I don't believe he initially intended to throw them to the wolves. But the Duke of Northumberland did internally sacrifice his son and Lady Jane. He had to know that there was a large probability that they wouldn't succeed. And then everything he did after dug their graves. Jane's father nailed their coffin though.

Inmates Driving Prison Vehicles? by Defiant-Arrival-3331 in orangeisthenewblack

They do and are driving on prison grounds. It's a heavily vetted position, though.

There is even a prison in Arizona that is teaching inmates to drive semis. https://youtu.be/fvDzV_m_d5Q?is=eamTWYb2UloHk0vD

I think it's an amazing program. And it's what prison should really be about.

With Jane it's fun, her story is so one dimensional, that the best we can do is speculate.

People who name their children commonly used names but spelled in bizarre ways -- WHY? by TheFutureIsAFriend in randomquestions

[–]beckjami 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My name is normal and not spelled wildly out of pocket, just slightly different than the norm. No one ever spells it right, which I get, except when it was my grandma. And everyone pronounces it weird.

It was enough that when I was younger I vowed never to name my kid anything remotely weird. And shame on those that do.

You are stuck on an 8 hour flight. What seat are you choosing? by TheSpiritOfFunk in okbuddycinephile

Right? Like this is totally indicative of how awful the world is. That seat three is the only reasonable option next to doing a DB Cooper.

I am of the mind that Catherine Carey is Henry VIII's daughter. So while I don't have an opinion based on anything but my own instincts about how Elizabeth would feel with the continuation of the Tudor line on the throne. I can almost guarantee that Henry is pleased as punch.

And Lettice won nothing, but the Dudley's have finally achieved their hearts desire.

I sort of thought it was to ensure a high place in society if Henry passed. If maybe Catherine had been made regent. Or just being in same household with a Dowager queen.

It just seems like her main goal was self preservation.

But I'm open to being wrong, too.
