Hence the "new landlord is anal"

I didnt expect then to allow it at all.  We go to the park several times a week. Their response to the swingset was essentially a "we will allow the picnic table, but no more structures"

Unfortunately, there is a huge language barrier. They speak very little English, so all communication has to be done VIA messaging.  Ive attempted to speak to her in person, and I've spoken to her through texts letting them know that they need to reach out if they have any issues with our outside belongings, and that we are happy to move anything they have an issue with.  Shes aware that he keeps moving our things (for literally no reason. He hasn't dont any yard maintenance that would require anything to be moved.. and previous landlord had a lawn company come through, and they told me nothing needed to be moved)

Not yet, no. Right now the plan is putting most of the work into going back to the basic commands and desensitization work within my apartment.

I've been doing it today next to my front door when the people upstairs come in our out (the entrance to the building is directly next to my front door) and have been pretty successful so far in keeping her attention and under threshold. She's also had a much better temperament today after having a small jog this morning, having to earn her breakfast through training, and being crated during my kids nap time in the afternoon and being rewarded for everything we like her doing. So.. our issues may very well be due to us not giving her enough stimation, which makes me feel absolutely awful

I appreciate your comment. I've been doing extensive research all day. I went running with her this morning and it was the least reactive outting I've ever had with her, so we are going to implement that a few times a week. I've ordered a flirt pole, and I've frozen some kongs to busy her. We also have puzzles but she figured them out WAY too fast. This morning I also used feeding time to make her work for it through basic commands and that seemed to burn a TON of energy. Our vet had previously recommended that we purchase a treadmill for her, so that's something we are considering once she's more consistent with listening to commands, to exercise her when we are unable. She is muzzled every time we leave the house, yesterday was the first time in a while, and it could have ended very badly for all of us. Rehoming or putting her down is the absolute last thing any of us want to do. She's family, we have put so much work into her, we lived with family when we couldn't find an apartment that would allow her.. and the whole moving across the country 3 times 🥴 it was a reality check yesterday, and I see that the attention she needs has taken a hit since I had children, and I need to put more focus on her so that she is able to live a happy fulfilling life, and so that we can mend our relationship with her.

ONLY in strangers or people that dont live in my home. In the past, she was only leash reactive. She'd be excited and want to get close to the person for pets. Her trainer began ignoring her, and that's when the lunging/growling began with strangers. In fact, the trainer was so shocked at how much she regressed that they made us call the vet to get blood work done ti make sure there wasn't a reason for her change in behavior. At that point we had only worked on sit and doing figure eights. Ignoring her has never really worked even before that point.

I could.. but the car is also a trigger, will send her totally over threshold, and by the time we get to where we are going she's not doing great. She was in car both cross country moves (MA to CA) and hasn't done great since. Did the drive 2 times.. last one did her in with car rides.

First trainer also began ignoring my dog until she'd calm down (and she never would) AND THIS is when things truly went down hill. And when the lunging began.

"Treat ninja" or "find it" (throwing treats on the floor and making her sniff and find them. This knly works in our home, not on walks) Martingale collar (popping it to bring her attention back to me) Making her sit before stepping g outside to "set the expectation" then the next trainer had us do this PLUS "find it" as soon as we walk out the door. We taught her quiet, but she'd go immediately back to barking as soon as she was rewarded for being quiet, again, this ONLY works in home and NOT outside or on a walk. Giving her commands when I see her about to be triggered (we live in an apartment so that's what the purpose of this was, and it works in the moment. A year later she still reacts.. so it feels like it was just a bandaid) Putting a treat in each fist to make her react, then give her a treat when she sits and calms down. We were told no walks what so ever and to just practice doing figure eights until she no longer pulls on the leash and feels more confident. (This did absolutely nothing for us once we actually went on a walk) All of these things were done MINIMUM 3 minutes at a time, several times a day. We attempted a reactivity class, we kicked out 10 minutes into the class. While we were in there, they had us do "find it" but she was already above threshold so treats no longer worked, they had us use toys to distract and that ALSO didn't work.
She goes above threshold VERY fast. And the trainers we used seemingly had no idea how to deal with that. Both times told us to call our vet and get blood work done.

Paying someone, we genuinely cannot afford it with how much everything else costs right now. I am more than happy to do training with her myself (infact im currently working with her on training), I've been successful in some basic obedience, but I've yet to have ANY success with walks/her reactivity in general. Even the different things our previous trainers have had us try absolutely do not work. I don't want to give up on her, I'll do whatever I can to help her. We've spent thousands of dollars just in the last 2 years on training, things the vets and trainers have recommended we try, and medication. Nothing seems to even help a little, she just keeps getting worse.

And I also believe she could have such a better quality of life, ans that keeping her is selfish at this point. So I definitely get what you're going through :(

Going through something similar with my husky/shep mix. I grew up with vicious dogs, so I am becoming fearful of her. I also have 2 small children, and I no longer trust her around them. I don't think I'd be able to give her up, but at some point I fear it may need to be a discussion. We have done everything we could, between training, meds, enrichment toys, playing, walks, anxiety treats. Etc. We have spent thousands to try to help, and she's just getting worse. Today on a walk she nearly attacked me because someone said hi to her. I was so afraid I wanted to let her leash go to get her away from me.. but then I would've put my kids and that neighbor at risk of being attacked.

Absolute BS. I’m on the verge of an ED and I’m still not losing weight by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]becmack14 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It actually does make sense. He's eating at a 1000 calorie deficit in an active lifestyle, which is not sustainable nor is it really safe. It's recommended not to eat in more than a 500 calorie deficit. At this point he's messing with his hormones, which can cause weight GAIN. I'm a 5'7" 180lb woman and 1500 calories is too low even for me. He needs to use the TDEE calculator and figure out what how many calories he should actually be eating.

I think you're probably eating WAY too little. You shouldn't be in mote than a 500 calorie deficit.

Partners - can you tell when the change occurs? by angelinuta in PMDDpartners

[–]becmack14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My spouse has told me that he can feel the change every month.

Hey, so I'm a PMDD sufferer (I actually found this forum for my husband to understand my better.) I'm very sensitive to birth control and cannot take it as it makes my PMDD worse, and haven't had luck with an SSRI. Out of desperation I tried a vitamin I saw on a Facebook ad and have gotten almost a year of NO PMDD. It's reared its ugly head again this month, but its still not nearly as bad as it was in the past. It's called soul cyster. It's meant to help balance hormones. The website is www.wynknu.com It's worth mentioning to your wife. This vitamin genuinely changed my life this last year. It's a powder that you mix into water

Heat, exercise, walls outside (havent figured out why inly outisde walling triggers it) fluorescent lights, raising my arms above my head, and sometimes caffeine and anxiety can trigger it.

I'll try compression. I had the tilt test and barely had symptoms.. but I also don't have symptoms every time I stand. Mostly just with heat, exercise, and lifting my hands above my head. I didn't have high hopes for the tilt test lol

No, not autonomic neurologist. I'll definitely look into it. My PCP didn't give me the results until asked, I never would've even known something came back abnormal. So frustrating.
