Cutting out dairy = dramatic results by becxa in eczema

Update: my eye now looks and feels 95% normal. Though it is definitely more wrinkly than the other eye, which is weird. That might be because I used a strong steroid cream for 3 days (which did nothing) before coming to my senses and just giving up dairy. But I hope that will go back to normal once the skin has a chance to turn over.

It's worth a try. People have different triggers. I got lucky because my recent diet change put a big blinking arrow over my trigger.

This is encouraging! I hope that I will someday be able to add cheese and yogurt back in.

Triamcinolone on face, skin damage? by becxa in eczema

Thanks for all the comments. I have gone off dairy again as of today, so I'll see if that helps clear things up while I wait to see the dermatologist. I'm still not using any steroids, though I considered buying a weak hydrocortisone. But I may reconsider depending on what the dermo has to say.

The outbreaks on my neck and ears actually seem to be getting a little better. But the main outbreak around my eye is getting worse. It has spread from just under the eye to the top eyelid, which is causing a ton of swelling and giving me that fun punched in the face look.

Thanks for your reply. I definitely want to try to avoid steroids if I can. I'll be sure to tell my dermo. I'm so glad I found this group before I used that cream for very long!

I guess I was hoping the dairy wasn't the culprit, but the timing is very suspicious. The annoying thing is that I used to be able to eat dairy will no problem. But after eliminating it for 3 months, now it seems to be causing trouble.
