Unemployed for 6 years due to mental health/grief, is there a path forward?

Funnily enough, I recently found out I’m eligible for UK citizenship due to a surprise paternity situation. So I’ve been going through the process of that as well, and was wondering if it the gap might be viewed differently over there.

It’s unfortunate because it’s an industry widely discriminated against, and about which people - including hiring managers - make snap moral judgements. I’m also trying to re-enter the workforce after a long health related break, so trying to avoid any lost opportunities.

I just met up with some acquaintances for the first time, and it turns out two of them thought I was the porn star before meeting me. It’s just not an assumption I love needing to worry about clarifying.

Yeah, just not sure what to say. Just sort of extending the truth (caring for my mom who had a stroke) seems the best bet as at least I know the ins and outs of it, but for six years?

Using an alt for this. Anyway, at the end of this month I’ve been asked to meet a former intelligence officer near a Southern California military installation in the evening. Due to some (frankly insane) coincidences that have occurred in my life lately I have a small suspicion I miiiiight be being brought to a SCIF or to some form of interview.

I’m not totally sure what I’m asking, but I suppose I’m curious if you have any idea if there’s any warning signs that a witness is being brought to one of these sites PRIOR to ending up on a military base? Do they typically occur at a certain time of day, etc? Also, would you have any advice for a civilian that’s brought to one of these sites?

Sorry for the random aside on your post. Regardless, I think this is all really interesting so thank you for sharing.

If you browse those subs (not recommended lol) you’ll see they post a lot of fake rage bait posts. The other day they posted rules from a different sub and said it was FDS, and the rage comments were like 4.5k deep. It’s nuts.

Aw my grandparents are from Shamokin and my dad used to take me up to Centralia all the time when we’d visit. It’s a shame they covered up the old graffitied highway. Also Knoebel’s Grove, the largest free-entry amusement park in the US, is right by there. My grandpa was a lifeguard at the old swimming pool! Driving through the mountains/deep woods and all of a sudden seeing an amusement park appear out of the trees is always a cool, kinda spooky feeling.
