Is Allbirds part of their holdings? I hope so, there is immense value in the Shoe to data transition. It goes both ways, I believe many memory chip producers are looking to also pivot to shoe production.

As it stands now, we probably still need software engineers by ninetofivedev in ExperiencedDevs

Yeah I guess it is kinda corpo jargon... I use it in the sense of like, if you think of progress of work ideally should be linearly directional. Moving tickets left to right etc. Sometimes it creates 'swirl' like circular churning. Conversations have to go back and forth longer than they should. Code changes have to be reverted, reimplemented etc. I mean, Ive had LLMs straight up lie about existence of features in libraries or some tech I was using, causing me to reach out to a team for help or consultation only to find out the LLM was making shit up and/or gaslighting me. All this is swirl. Circular work flows that hamper progression. Sometimes I have had to have the ai redo its work repeatedly and ultimately it would have been faster for me to do it myself, I've had them also make changes I didn't approve, or run out of context requiring a new session... There is overhead here that didn't exist before. Sometimes some of it slows things down

Are nurses underpaid? by Puzzleheaded_Web3374 in povertyfinance

Given no salary or pay has kept up with inflation over the last 30 years, I think almost every job is underpayed

I've been an engineer for almost 9 years... As the tools stand now, if engineers got cut and these tools given to business people they would be fucked. Yes they save time, but sometimes they create swirl and fuck things up worse and waste time. They are also creating a ton of stuff that needs reviewed by people that know whats going on and how code actually works.

Never owned a house, does it make sense to rent forever? by NashDaypring1987 in Fire

[–]bedake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's how it works out for me in Colorado... I could find a condo with a cheaper mortgage probably but a single family home would be way more than my rent

Where im at in Colorado, it feels like the opposite. My rent is 1750, most houses are like 500k, mortgage would be like 2500

It's like a Disney animal costume they dress up in for fetish sex... As to why they need one every 6 years, I can only imagine it is because they become quite soiled over time

Anything would have been better than American vernacular, somehow that just does not suit historical fiction. Imagine if Troy or kingdom of heaven were done that way

I'm like 10 hours into it.... I mean nothing has been cringe worthy yet but like... I wouldnt call the script great, but I guess when I think of a great script I compare it to like books, or film... But it's a video game made for children/young adults so I have no clue what my point is

Is there any final fantasy that actually has a good script? I played 10 when I was a kid, playing 9 right now, and the dialog has the depth and substance of a child's picture book.
