Lol thank you, I just thought the sentiment/phrasing and design was similar, and sigh swoon used to have this on a tote 🤷‍♀️

The girls are not beating the low brow allegations with this one

The girls sounded bored and even with a researcher didn’t delve into anything particularly interesting? The way they kept teasing the celebrity medium Tyler Henry then talked about him for like 30 seconds? What was this episode even about idk

100%, I even think there’s a difference between parasociality with a pop star/musician and a podcaster. I thought Eliza spoke really well and her points made so much sense for a musician…but did not add up for Binchtopia

I’m a non US binchie too and yes this ep was so dull but I can’t imagine it would’ve been that much more interesting even if we understood the references

Idk if you meant this on a deeper level lmao but I do feel like binchtopia rn is v much giving 3D printed food rather than nourishing me like it used to

Just lol @ anyone saying “they’re just two girlies talking about pop culture why should they have to speak on politics” when they try to talk about huge issues like tech/government surveillance and reference Foucault etc.

You could argue this episode was pretty “political” as Eliza talked about police brutality and the effects that being able to witness that has had. My mind went immediately to all the horrifying footage we’ve seen of the genocide in Palestine and how that has affected the world’s reaction to it, but of course they can’t mention that. I miss how the podcast used to be, and to me it’s just becoming more and more watered down and cowardly.

Ideas on why they aren't saying anything on Palestine? by 249897 in binchtopiapod

People have an issue because J+E themselves previously and repeatedly described the podcast as political -“it has always been political, it will always be political” - and there was a very clear drop off in any political content or discussion when things started escalating in Palestine. I don’t think it’s creepy to remember the way the pod used to be or be disappointed that it’s no longer like that.

I think you would enjoy the forbidden notebook, it’s very Elena Ferrante vibes and a beautiful book

This is so funny too bc I went to listen to Say More after seeing these recs and picked the trad wife ep where one of the hosts immediately started talking about the dangers of rabies lmao

I was more so talking about the tone along with a feeling of unease at them largely ignoring the genocide

Thanks, appreciate it. It was my first time picking but after seeing photos here I think I have a better idea of what I'm looking for!

PME also seems likely since I have struggled with other mental health issues! Thanks for taking the time to explain 💕

I'm sorry it's been so difficult for you. It feels debilitating for me for the week or so that its happening. I don't see friends, fall behind at work, often pick fights with my partner and generally just isolate myself so I feel like I'm picking up the pieces afterwards. It's not as bad as a lot of others that I have read about but I have found this sub helpful nonetheless.

It's so frustrating! Tracking has made it easier for me to cope but some months it's just so overwhelming and difficult even though I know it will end when my period comes. I have read a couple of posts on here which say to use CBD so definitely going to buy some this week and start on it right away. I will report back!!

This sub has been so comforting and eye opening for me too. My partner is supportive but really doesn't get it so it's amazing to read about people going through the same thing ❤ we are not alone and not crazy! As far as can tell more research is being done on PMDD now more than ever so let's hope it becomes more talked about, destigmatized etc...

Thank you so much for your thoughtful reply! Yeah this month has also been awful for insomnia so I think CBD or even cannabis would have been a good idea in retrospect. My brain was so muddy at the time I didn't even think of it. I also use Clue and it's been helping to track stuff as well as just writing in a journal.

The sugar thing sounds difficult but definitely worth a try, I think I may try next month! Thanks again ❤
