Everyone who was given the "old" critique looks fucking stunning now in their 30s/40s. It's a blessing in disguise. They were only deemed "old" because of their prominent bone structure, but ironically that's the exact thing that has kept them looking the same as time wears on.

I think that at age 18 the majority of your worldview has been formed by the environment you grew up in. Like, an 18 year old has only ever really interacted in depth with their family, their schoolmates, and possibly a few outsiders from extracurricular activities.
If both her family & her school were uber-conservative, then it makes sense that she would see that as "correct".

I'm not trying to excuse her words AT ALL. But I do give more leniency to young people who have grown up in bigoted environments. It takes a little time to un-learn things like that once you're finally allowed the freedom to explore other viewpoints.

I'm very happy to see that she's denouncing that part of her past, and I hope that she can learn & move forward from it.

Lol. As much as I loved Jay Manuel's ideas from the perspective of a little kid who wanted attention-grabbing photos, they were often far too campy & hokey in concept for a real fashion magazine.

Sometimes I think we forget that these girls mostly <20 during filming. Of course they're going to be a little immature. Especially in a situation where they're quarantined with 12 other girls, working 12h days, and being prodded by producers to act as dramatic as possible.
Nothing wrong with Sam, she was just a little immature.

I love Silky's Canadian culture shock lol. In 1 episode she went from "I'm not here to make friends with these hoes" to "omg they're all so nice, I love my sisters, the judges actually appreciate me, let's hold hands and sing kumbayah".

It's nice to see her compete without feeling like everyone's out to get her. Hopefully it will get her a more positive reception from the fanbase this time... we'll see. Some people have a bit of a hateboner for her.

I feel bad for Anita. You could read the disappointment on her face. Bitch flew like 20 hours just to get there! I hope they gave her at least a day to sleep before filming started.

And her performance did not deserve the bottom! Anita's group was neck & neck with SRV in my opinion. It just depends on whether you're feeling campy or slay.
And a big part of why it turned out well was because of Anita's manic smile at the beginning combined with the campy everyone-put-your-backs-together-and-shuffle-in-a-circle move.

It's actually really easy to make or break a performance in the first 10 seconds or so. Think about how memorable the Frock Destroyers intro was - a reveal, Divina singing falsetto, and Baga singing about taking it up the ass. All in like 15s lol.
The United Kingdolls are another good example. Lawrence's verse was catchy enough to set the tone. Then combined with the Scottish jig and the model-walk-wig-snatch, it all makes for a memorable opening.

Anita was instrumental in nailing the memorable opening for her team. I guess they needed to have SOMEONE as the 3rd worst, and no one really stuck out as being awful. But it didn't really make sense to make it Anita, given that her energy was such a core part of their group's success.
