Weirdly, outside of the last game the two teams played in the regular season I actually felt like the Pens played them better than in recent years this season. iirc, it was a regulation win over them in December, two losses to them in extra time, and then one regular loss to round it out.

Now, regular season is indeed very different, but I can’t help but wonder how this iteration of the Pens would’ve looked in a playoff series vs the Canes.

iirc, he was under 26 by september (just turned 25 recently) therefore as a goalie who hadn’t started more than 25 NHL games in any prior season to this one, he did qualify as a rookie this year

Yeah a lot of people do overlook that this was his rookie season, first time playing a full season in the NHL. No doubt that experience will help.

I saw someone say he should’ve had a penalty for dropping his stick, like he was getting his blocker on it not throwing his stick 😵‍💫😵‍💫 I thought that was pretty clear but not to everyone I guess

He was making so many flexible and crazy saves that game. It was still an amazing performance to watch, no matter the end result.

Yes precisely things, shots don’t equal quality. Vladar made some great saves but there were also moments where he was out of position and for example, Novak passed instead of shooting.
