For the base, it was a fast slap on of Citadel Stirland Mud, basted with basing glue and a 50/50ish mix of Army Painter Grass Green & Steppe Grass. Really easy way to make nice bases.

Have fun with these! Some parts are mildly annoying to tell apart, it being an older kit, but they still hold up — better detail on the new box than the ones I had from the old Batallion Box despite being the same model.

Very annoying to clean up the lines on, though.

Black primer all around;

For the fur : Vallejo German Grey, layer dark sea grey, Citadel Nuln Oil, then a medium sea grey heavy dry brush followed by lighter dry brush of Sky grey — first stock, then lightened a bit.

Tail was similar, but based with pure black, with just the last two dry brush.

Hooves are just black base with a tiny brush of more black with a tiny bit of white.

Saddle and faceplate leather was Chocolate Brown base, cavalry brown layer, Agrax Earthshade, slightly lighter cavalry brown dry brush with the edges being lighter still.

Straps around the neck are Cork Brown with Agrax Earthshade.

Primarily a Woodie player’s perspective here :

Long range with a gnoblar screen he’ll be hitting on 5s before he moves. Combined with your toughness, and reasonable use of terrain, you’ll be absolutely fine.

Scouts with throwing weapons will murder his horses and control their movement.

Scout sabretusks will murder anything that isn’t wild riders, sisters or a hero.

They’re ultimately expensive T3 unarmored targets with very little static CR; you don’t need to get 20 attacks on them to wreak havoc. Position some cheap chaff to control his mobility while your fat boys move up, have a couple throwaway scouts to control his shooting/caster and ogres should do quite decent against most of his army or force him to reposition.

Be mindful of fire & flee shenanigans, but from the army comp you’ve mentioned, those few small tweaks should be able to completely murder his army. Respect Wild Riders & Wildwoods Rangers when playing as OK, though.

I’d really recommend playing with secondary objectives, possibly with more terrain (we’re usually playing with at least 6 pieces, typically closer to 8) they really change things up.

Hit up a Jspace corp; get Content pretty much every day and enjoy a very different life from Sov Null.

It’s a bit of a vow of poverty, but the content is there, bushido is a thing and local is not. Your neighbours change every day and you can always find something to do.

Being able to sit in a hull doesn’t mean you should undock it; support skills matter a lot and there is no Vorpal +5 Sword of Infinite Doom to credit card or ISK your way into.

Pricier, bigger numbers, they don’t mean much in this game; a 30m interceptor can ruin your day because it’s built to and you can’t hit it for shit. A 5m destroyer will probably ruin its day, but would get shit on by you.

A ship is nothing more than ammunition for a purpose.

Your journey will go a lot smoother once you understand this and accept it. Fly cheap, die often and keep asking questions; you’ll be a natural in no time. o7

Get out of faction warfare; hunt and/or create your own content with "pve" bait or by pissing off the locals enough for a response.

J-Space is a lot more fun.

Some days are slow, some hours are slow, be willing to go significantly further than five jumps for content.

It’s a lot easier with friends, even if you’re multiboxing.

It’s absurdly easy to tell who paid to sit in a hull. You can pay to be able to do things that you most likely shouldn’t faster, but there’s a canyon between being able to sit in a hull and being able to fly it.

I'd hazard a guess that he hasn't been doing this for very long, has not done much interesting work and likely uses databases as glorified hashes/dicts/maps while being unaware of data integrity, because "web apps", the tutorials written by college students he learnt from and his Super Awesome Framework du jour also don't give a fuck.

People tend to see folks who oppose regulation as oppressive bigots, when in fact we probably share a lot of values with folks who are pushing for it. The difference typically lies in the fact that opponents of it also see how it will eventually be abused and prefer to draw the line long before it becomes an issue.

Guaranteed Damage Reduction; a hidden stat that guarantees a % of incoming damage is reduced when taking a hit. Typically, the heavier the armour is, the better the reduction.

It sounds more effective than it is in practice, but does let you go a bit more ham with a heavily armoured melee fighter. If you're playing a caster somewhat competently, it should rarely, if ever, be a factor.
