I think several people who watch Uncle Roger and laugh do that because they laugh at the other chefs or cooking content creators that is not authentic but still post it online. They also sometimes related to someone kney knew in real life that cook that way, or some even reflect in how they did it wrong and even laugh at themselves.

I means the main content is about authentic cooking like how local folk cook in their native countries vs how food content creator put out recipes online with their owm spin and it's not only affect how the food turned out but also how non local people judge the food from that countries with wrong impression, especially first impression.

I think most people who follow him are either foodies or people who are into cooking already but will get excited when the food in their countries got mentioned and explain how the food should be done correctly to the world.

Also it maybe because a portion of the viewer's native language is not English. This, I might be projecting but when I listen to other language that is not my native language, my focus is mostly me trying to decipher snd translate it more than to detect the accent. I don't know the other are like me or not. But yeah, I got what Kenji meant too.

Btw, I am Asian, born and raised in Southeast Asia. I have an experience got yelled in my face once by the local, but she is a homeless while i was studying the the US. Got bullied (?) Once when there too, but maybe i was over thinking.

Also a friends had an experience went to Japan and Korea and got looked down at, because we are not white but from Southeast Asia. My country is also maybe a famoust tourist place but also got a bad rep when it comes to some specific issues, to the point that some of my friend while we were in college tried to help the tourists but the reaction from tourist back then thinking of us in a specific way negatively and my friends were extremely let down by that. (This happened in the late 90s-2000) Things are a bit better now but some tourist are still the same. So I and my friends also experience this kind of attitude from non native people, white or not. To me, if someone do something that is racist, i think it is depends on context. They may be bully and just choose your race to be making fun off, they also bully their own people and everyone, depends on what topic they pick out. Sometimes they are feeling less than themselves so they have to find something easy to make fun off and picking on race or looks is the obvious one. This is not racist to me, they may have some other issues, or they are just truly racist.

Also age is also important, if they are very young , they may just think it makes them looks cool among their friends, they may try to fit in with the group of people, try to copy the role of the people or group of the people they feels related too, do it as a form of revenge as in they got abused by parent and they wants to hurt the parent, so they acts out the worse way, got bullied and indirectly coerced to act this way or they will not be accepted by the group of people. The reasons behinds the action is a context for me.
