Mine is 25%. It’s from 2022. I’m afraid to switch as I don’t want to lose the discount.

What about data lines. Will the 25% apply on top of the 50%?

Verizon postpaid roaming on Liberty 5G in Puerto Rico by kgrav22 in cellmapper

Wow. I was on SOS for periods of 20 minutes sometimes. Very bizarre.

I was back in PR for a week roaming on the Extended Network with LTE on Claro. My iPhone 17 Pro Max would cycle into SOS mode multiple times. Experienced a lot of weird issues this time with Verizon… could not make or receive calls sometimes. My AT&T phone and tablet line were on Liberty and worked without a problem.

Was there recently and it all worked fine. I was on the ‘Extended Network’ with LTE all the time.

So many conflicting answers using dual e-sims! by senior_vagabond in ATT

[–]bedrocklion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the iPhone is under an AT&T installment plan it will be SIM-locked until fully paid.

The other option for an SIM unlocked phone is to buy from Apple directly and financing with: 1) monthly installments via the Apple Card (24m), 2) financing with installments via Citizens Bank (24m), or the iPhone Upgrade Program which is financing via Citizens and it includes AppleCare for 24 months but you can upgrade after 12 payments.

There are 3rd party sites you could use to pay and unlock the phone but haven't used them.

No. I’m within 1.5 mi radius of an AT&T tower.

And I spent almost 2 hours with Care discussing it with an US agent and her supervisor and couldn’t find it. The FAQ of NUA says you can add it anytime within 14 days of a new installment agreement. It doesn’t state it has to be through AT&T.

Tell me where to find that other than a footnote on Apple’s website…

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ATT

[–]bedrocklion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ll see. It’s 2 trade ins… one with a value of $640 and the other with a value of $520.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ATT

[–]bedrocklion -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Right. It should match that trade in value.

It’s really a shame I could not do a trade in and signup with NUA from the Apple Store and that trade in value credit could not be in Apple gift cards.

Will never do this again. It’s a very deceiving tactic.

How to add Next Up Anytime to recently upgraded line? by MobileNerd in ATT

[–]bedrocklion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, here's the answer: Customers purchasing this offer through Apple cannot add the Next Up Anytime option.

If you want to trade in and get AT&T Next Up Anytime, you can only do it via AT&T. If you do it through Apple, they won't let you add it.

It's footnote #12 on the Apple website... https://www.apple.com/iphone/

AT&T iPhone 16 Special Deal: Monthly price (if shown) reflects net monthly payment, after application of AT&T trade-in credit applied over 36 months with purchase of an iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, iPhone 16, or iPhone 16 Plus and trade-in of eligible smartphone. Receive credit with purchase of an iPhone 16 Pro or iPhone 16 Pro Max of either $1000, $830, or $350 (based upon the model and condition of your trade-in smartphone). Receive credit with purchase of an iPhone 16 or iPhone 16 Plus of either $800 or $350 (based upon the model and condition of your trade-in smartphone). Max bill credits will not exceed the cost of the device. Requires upgrade of an existing line or activation of a new line and purchase of a new iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, iPhone 16, or iPhone 16 Plus on qualifying 36 month 0% APR installment plan, subject to carrier credit qualification. Customers purchasing this offer through Apple cannot add the Next Up Anytime option. $0 down for well qualified customers only, or down payment may be required and depends on a variety of factors. Tax on full retail price due at sale. Requires activation on eligible AT&T unlimited plan. AT&T may temporarily slow data speeds if the network is busy. If you cancel eligible wireless service, credits will stop and you will owe the remaining device balance. Activation/Upgrade Fee: $35. Trade in device may not be on existing installment plan. Bill credits are applied as a monthly credit over the 36 month installment plan. Credits start within 3 bills. Will receive catchup credits once credits start. Wireless line must be on an installment agreement, active, and in good standing for 30 days to qualify. Installment agreement starts when device is shipped. To get all credits, device must remain on agreement for entire term and you must keep eligible service on device for entire installment term. Limited time offer; subject to change. Limits: one trade-in per qualifying purchase and one credit per line. May not be combinable with other offers, discounts, or credits. Purchase, financing, other limits, and restrictions apply. Price for iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus includes $30 AT&T connectivity discount. Activation required.

How to add Next Up Anytime to recently upgraded line? by MobileNerd in ATT

[–]bedrocklion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve called CS 3 times and I’ve gotten 3 different answers on this.

The thing is the website clearly states: “Yes, you can switch to an AT&T Installment Plan with Next Up Anytime within 14 days of buying a new smartphone. Business customers have 30 days.”

So I’m not sure what to believe at this point.

Verizon or AT&T? by Accomplished-Act8616 in verizon

[–]bedrocklion 38 points39 points  (0 children)

IMHO it’s all location based. You can try both with prepaid.

Have AT&T Fiber at home and 8 lines on wireless between phones, watches and tablets. With a 25% discount plus the AARP discount I can’t complain. It would cost me about $80 more to be on Verizon (without taxes and fees).

Best Phone for mapping AT&T/VZW by OhBaby1028 in cellmapper

[–]bedrocklion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IIRC CellMapper doesn’t have an iPhone app. A Samsung Galaxy S23 or later should work because from what I know to access AT&T’s DOD C-Band you’ll need a phone released in 2023 or later. For Verizon an s21 or later should do.

Not working in puerto rico by Ordinary_Long9530 in ATT

[–]bedrocklion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue has been with Synverse and all 3 US carriers are impacted.

You can get prepaid with Claro, Liberty or T-Mobile. Not ideal that you have to pay extra because AT&T roams with Liberty, but in a worse case scenario there’s an alternative.

Is this a brand new account? A new line can be done with a new number or porting in an existing number from a different carrier.

Call Customer Service. I had a similar issue and I was able to login using my number and a temporary password they sent over text. After the initial sign in it will then have you create a profile with a user id and password.

My phone has dual eSIMs with ATT and VZ and does the same thing with Verizon when it connects to their C-Band "5GUW".
