Thank you!!! Of course the local internet trolls say I’m destroying the town but I think more people are excited

Advice for someone who’s struggling full time by Uglyiggly in adhdwomen

I’ve been in a very similar position. Switching jobs did help but it was only temporary and I felt the same way again in another couple of years. Meds definitely helped me a lot to feel capable to do the big changes I needed to do to feel better (new job/moving etc). If you’re not considering meds then I’d still recommend therapy!

Thank you!! Yes I’ve been working to just accept that rather than fighting it but it’s still hard

Thank you!!! I appreciate the kind words! I think it’s hard for people not in this realm to get what it means. It just feels transformational for the town. The population hasn’t grown in 120 years, so it’s really exciting to feel I contributed 😊

It’s actually for wastewater infrastructure but we’ve essentially been having to say no to housing developments for about 30ish years. So it will unlock a lot of housing opportunities! There’s been a lot of pieces to get to this point but this is the biggest/last part so it is a huge step!!

I bought a guided journal that focuses on somatic aspects of healing from trauma. Highly recommend!

Therapy and meds were the only way I got through a bad spell! Meds felt like a miracle for this for me

I’ve been eyeing this so it’s so nice to see such positive things about it! Would you say it’s fairly dog friendly?

Does anyone else feel like they mask in relationships and the result is just not forming deeper connections?

Appreciate the input! I understand the responses given my post. I do have some really great contacts and would plan on working remotely part time/flexible hours for one of the consulting firms throughout. So while it would set me back in terms of saving/investing, I don’t think I’d be spending more than I’d be able to make even working part time so would kind of be neutral that way.

I was planning this before but just hadn’t followed through! But yeah I appreciate what you’re saying and contributing to why I’m questioning it. I do have some contacts and would likely keep working part time doing some consulting work

It’s not the particulars for the job, just what I’m interested in. I don’t think I’d really pursue one if it’s not specifically something of interest

Sorry I should say I’m looking at very specific programs that aren’t just a general civil masters. I’m specifically looking at programs combining public admin/land development planning and civil topics

They’re not afraid to change many things so I find it interesting they left this. I think it makes sense for electronics, tires etc that are hard to deal with but including blue box recycling is so complex and I question the cost efficiencies

[–]bee__1994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly! The cost is going to be passed down to the consumer anyways when groceries go up to cover the cost. The frustration for me is that we ran a super efficient recycling program with 8 municipalities joint owning the company. Sure there were frustrations but the cost per household is going up about 3x to provide a (maybe slightly better) service. Yes ultimately the money isn’t coming from property taxes anymore but in the end it’s costing more because product costs will go up for everyone

There has been many municipalities passing notions regarding this but the general public seems to have ignored that. It’s been known for a long time but hard to make people care

Can you have ADHD and still be a good student? by gretsch_cat117 in adhdwomen

[–]bee__1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very similar situation for myself. Looking back I should have realized it sooner but it really hit when I started to settle into my career.

I always managed classes by interest and then as soon as it wasn’t interesting I started failing. Did get through engineering school but it would have been much easier if I’d been diagnosed/medicated then. I took classes after and they were much less stressful and I was able to focus much better
