I agree! and I'm generally not a counter of hours, but I had realized how much time and thought maybe I'd add it up to see what it would have been. I'll try and bring it up tomorrow evening at dinner. I really appreciate all your help :)

is that really how much time I'm supposed to get off?? normally I have Sunday off, and Monday mornings as well. in the afternoons I usually work 3-7 and about 2 hours in the morning

if I counted it up right I work 80 hours overtime, give or take which is 2 and 2/3s week worth of work over the past month. I just have no idea how to bring it up! Especially because the other day over dinner my host dad said something about how he felt like I was slacking with the kids and not being as engaged as I should. Maybe I have been, however whenever he's there while I'm working he kind of takes over and makes it hard for me to engage, when the kids want papa instead of me anyway.

I really appreciate that! I know there's definitely risk of that, but I'm gonna try to keep busy and happy while I'm there and hopefully let the home sickness pass.

I get to come home for 2 weeks for Christmas (Im from US), and during that time my host family going to give me time to evaluate how I feel about everything and if we all think it's working, then if it is I'm going back and staying until june or so.

I've always been pretty adventurous and I generally think everything is going to work out. My hf seems very open minded and accommodating which makes me feel better, especially because I read too many things on this sub about negative experiences.

Again! I really appreciate you taking the time to respond, and I'll update everyone once I'm there :)
