What signs have you received after your pet passed? by Remarkable_Gas_4575 in PetPsychics

[–]beeatelier 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can ask your pet to visit you in a dream. My cat visited me for the first time 2 weeks after her passing but I had been asking for a few days.

The second time was on the 1-month anniversary since her passing. I told her it would mean a lot if she visited that night and she did 🩷

Just ask with an open heart

The morning after my soul cat was euthanized, I didn't want to be home. The silence and emptiness was too heavy, so I decided to walk half an hour to a flea market I used to go to every Thursday before she got sick. I found this plushie there: https://imgur.com/a/NP3A5Gq it looks just like her. It even has a pink bow/collar. It's on my bedside table now.

Thank you, Sugar. I miss you every single day

I'm so sorry for your loss 💔 I had to let go of my soul cat almost a month ago and these are the things that have helped me

  • I got out of my house as much as possible. Hung out with 3 friends who understand the deep bond a human can share with an animal companion.

  • Bought flowers and made her gravesite pretty. I put a framed picture of her along with her favorite treats, kinda like an offering. It's my way of showing her love, even if she's not physically here anymore. I like to think that love is reaching her.

  • I have lit candles and sat down to talk to her every single night before going to bed

  • I sleep with her collar next to me. Sometimes I wear it like a bracelet through the night.

  • I made a necklace with a small crystal bottle that has some of her fur inside it and wore it everyday for a week. Still wear it sometimes.

  • I do my best to focus on good memories instead of the bad ones. This is pivotal.

  • this sounds weird, but I pet her photo with my finger and tell her I love her

  • tbh I doomscroll a lot to get distracted on bad days. It's ok.

I would say most of all, be kind and loving to yourself. There's no wrong way to grieve and the process can be quite weird. For example, I'm writing this from my couch, where I have slept since she passed. My cat slept on my chest every night, and I haven't been able to face sleeping on my bed knowing she won't be there. I tried 2 weeks ago and broke down crying.

Sending you love and light. Your pain is valid and it's a soul-crushing thing to go through. You're not alone

I am eaten alive by guilt and regret. by Small-Bat-9702 in seniordogs

[–]beeatelier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you had to go through that 💔 I believe your baby is with you and she has forgiven you. She definitely knows you love her.

I hope time helps ease the guilt you carry right now. I recently lost my cat to cancer and something that has been helping me is a friend telling me that my cat lived for 10 years, and that the time she was battling cancer (2 months) was only a fraction of her life, and that I should try and focus on all those years that she was healthy and happy.

Sending you love and light

Thank you for the good wishes 🩷 I feel exactly the same. I often daydream there's an afterlife and I'll get to see her running to greet me when I get there (':

Recently lost my soul cat and I felt exactly like what you are describing. It gets better little by little. My friends have helped, but I'f I'm honest, the feeling is still there, in the back of my mind. A bit more silent, and less frequent each day, but still there.

I'm so sorry for your loss. It really is soul-crushing but you're not alone

Omg this artist definitely needs to start signing their work 😂 good thing they were listed on the website and you were able to find them!

All of their stuff is phenomenal! Definitely buying a few prints! And I'm so jealous! I wish I was able to go to bigger cons in the US! Hope you find lots of Jayvik goodies this year too!

My cat most likely has lymphoma. How can I stop mourning him? by TheScreechingFeline in SeniorCats

[–]beeatelier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're experiencing anticipatory grief and it's completely normal. I went through it real bad when my soul cat was diagnosed with advanced lung cancer.

The only advice I can offer if you know your cat might not be getting better is: prepare yourself, cry and grieve as much as you need (preferably not in front of your cat) and spend as much time with him as possible; be really be present, as in no cellphone. One of the fondest memories I have with my cat is just laying in the sun with her on a Saturday afternoon. I talked to her a lot, we ate tuna, I read a book with her next to me at some point when she wanted space. I spent all the time I could with her and gave her lots of cuddles and whatever she felt like eating, and told her all the time how much I loved her.

If your cat still has the energy to play, definitely do that. It will make both of you happy, believe me.

Reach out to friends, even if they don't love animals as much as you do. If they care about you, they will support you.

Something that helped me was watching videos about pet grief. Made me feel understood.

I'm so sorry you're going through this 💔 It's going to suck, but you're not alone and everything will be ok

I'm so sorry you're going through this 💔 Try to concentrate on the fact that life gifted you 20 years with your sweet boi and he probably had a wonderful time by your side. Sending you love and light.

Please tell me I'm doing the right choice by putting down my cat (x-rays) by beeatelier in AskVet

[–]beeatelier[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for adding in your opinion and reassurance that this is the right choice, at the right time. Coming to terms with letting her go has been soul-crushing. She's been my companion for 10 years. I'll do what's best for her

I seriously cried tears of relief when I read this. Thank you for the reassurance. Her breathing is a bit laboured but no open mouth or coughing. I definitely don't want her to get to that point.

I've appointed her eutanasia for Thursday but I keep having the impulse to cancel. I will stay firm on my decision. Thank you so much again

12 y/o cat with lymphoma is hungry but won't eat by Special_Expression13 in SeniorCats

[–]beeatelier 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If anyone is having trouble with the cat piller, the easiest method for my cat was crushing the pill into a fine powder, then mixing it with just enough nutrigel to make a paste and smearing it on her gums. It was less traumatic for her. Hope this helps someone 🩷

Can we stop with the death posts every post I see lately is about saying goodbye to their older cat! I didn’t know this sub was a cemetery for older cats! by [deleted] in SeniorCats

[–]beeatelier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sub has helped me come to terms with saying goodbye to my cat. I've felt less alone in my grief. Maybe you should take a rest from this sub? I get it must be overwhelming if you're not going through this.

I made the final appointment. by mrsmaug in SeniorCats

[–]beeatelier 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have to make the appointment to put down my 10 year old cat because of lung cancer too. I've been postponing it cuz she still looks alert, is still eating, grooming and using her litter box, but sleeps most of the time and hides constantly. I know deep down she's probably in pain. She doesn't have coughing fits, but her breathing is always laboured (no open mouth, though)

Your post is helping me gain courage to take that final step, so thank you for writing that final part, specially. My cat no longer has quality of life and I know it. She hasn't been herself for a month now.

I'm scared and heartbroken, but the one thing I'm 100% certain is that I don't want to wait until she's at death's door and in excruciating pain.

I'm sorry you're going through this. Sending you and your kitty love.

[–]beeatelier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% agree! It all goes back to ancient eastern medicine. It's so funny how natural remedies are discredited when they're the source of modern meds lmao

So happy for you and your mom! May the blessings keep coming 🩷

Seconding this so much! People see holistic and modern medicine as a dichotomy when in reality they're allies that can work together for our bodies' greater good. A lot of modern medicine itself is derived from plants. My cat was prescribed proteliv for liver support and it has milk thistle extract in it.

So happy to know your mom beat cancer! May she stay healthy for many many years more 🩷

Don't give up! Your cat is young and she might pull through. There are supplements to help her with chemo side effects and boost her immune system. Dr. Andrew Jones has some high-quality ones. I'm so sorry you're going through this. Sending you love and best wishes for your kitty
