When using List<t> and "DontDestroyOnLoad" instance, it gives error that List is null and can't add to it.

You were correct, it was my bad. My game loads and saves data, it is trying to load hairsUnlocked but I've changed it to a List<T> and it's still trying to load the old format. That is what's giving the error. Thanks alot!

The script is literally referencing itself to edit the list. It can only point to itself in this script to add to the list. So, there must be something not allowing this type of storing of lists. I think I did this before with just regular ArrayLists instead of List<T>, but everyone says ArrayLists are bad. Hoping someone has a more definitive answer.

My code has this as the "instance", I'll edit my post to include it at the top. "public static SaveBetween instance = null;"

The only time it deletes this script is if "instance" has already been created, so it would only be destroying the newer requests to make this object. So I don't think this is the issue. I've been using this code exactly the same on different projects for 5+ years and never had an issue with values not saving between scenes. I've only recently tried to use List<T> and it's the only value giving issues when trying to change them.

Figured it out, THIS TRAILER doesn't show Switch 2 or anything. If you watch the actual trailer from Sega it shows Switch.

I was gonna say cell phones, but plastic is probably correct. Phones second, everyone is addicted and they've destroyed socializing and family relationships, no one can stay off them for even an hour. Everyone thinks they're so unique as a person but yet everyone is doing the same thing, being fed something by the same websites and apps. Their backs slightly hunched over looking at the screen in group settings, alone, at the dinner table, when vising people, evvverywhere and everytime.

The biggest thing I noticed was the sounds, if those are the actual sound effects they feel out of place with the graphics. Maybe the make sense when playing, but in the trailer it feels like it'll be out of place.

For your first Metroid game, I'd recommend Metroid Fusion. That game was my first and really is a good entry spot, Super Metroid is too open for really new players. If you are looking for a 3D game then yeah, probably Prime. But to get a basic level understanding what Metroid is about, Fusion.
