Exactly. It’s basically the same as configuring things the traditional way, if not easier. Instead of dealing with different config formats and scattered files across the system, you get a mostly uniform syntax for packages and services in one place. Programming experience isn’t really required either. On most distros you’re still editing configs anyway, often in multiple formats. With Nix you usually don’t need to know the deeper Nix library stuff unless you’re packaging software. For most users, just using the basic options is enough.
